Abstract:In order to explore the regular pattern of sci-tech innovative activities of university, and promote innovations serve the socioeconomic development better, this paper basing on data from 1993 to 2012 in Tianjin, using Engle-Granger cointegration and Granger causality test method, studies the relationship between sci-tech investment and output of universities and the relationship between innovations of universities and regional economic growth empirically. The results show that paper number can promote patent number and can attract funds from government or enterprise. Additionally, sci-tech project and funding can effectively enhance the patent number, but their influence on paper number is not significant. Finally, this paper put forward some suggestions for promoting university’s innovation to service regional socioeconomic development.
