The author is a member of the Scientific Committee of 1'Institut Européen de Cindyniques and Directeur général adjoint of L'Union des Assurances de Paris. This article is part of a presentation made to the 1992 Paris Conference of the European Business Ethics Network, of which the author is a Council member. This study investigates how forecasters view the forecasting process. Forecaster perceptions in industrial firms are found to be remarkably similar to those of forecasters in consumer products firms. Forecasters in service firms are found to be better satisfied overall with the forecasting process than forecasters in manufacturing firms. The effect of marketing strategy variables on the market shares of shore is examined. Both manufacturers and retailers play equally important roles in the functioning of marketing channels. In spite of this, the impact of marketing strategy variables on the competitive performance of stores, rather than that of brands, has been far less commonly examined in the literature. A market share model is developed and then tested using state-of-the-art scanner data. The results show statistically significant differences in the effects, on store share, of price and promotional variables between leader and follower brands. In addition, the market share models are able to predict store market shares with a high degree of accuracy in a hold-out sample. The model is then expanded to include variables with respect to competitor brands and competitor stores and then tested. Various managerial implications of the differential effects of brand strategy are discussed.  相似文献

The global structure of today's business environment mandates that business students acquire an awareness of cultural issues that have an impact on the social and business components of organizational life. Emphasizing the need to develop cross-cultural competence, an integrated communication framework is presented as a model for restructuring collegiate organizational behavior to facilitate experiential learning. Consistent with Brislin's (1989) training model, revision of course content can be structured to provide students with opportunities to internalize a set of skills that may facilitate cognition, affect, and behavior to enhance multi-cultural interactions.  相似文献

While some research studies have investigated recycling, little work has been done in the area of marketing of recycling behavior by those providing recycling services. This study looks at the effects of different informational, convenience, and economic factors, as well as social norm effects, on recycling behavior of consumers for newspapers, aluminum containers, glass containers, and plastic containers. Results indicate that optimal strategies for inducing recycling behavior may differ depending on the materials to be recycled.  相似文献
