Traditional Spring Festival in China means a family reunion time no matter how difficult to realize it. Due to China's large amount of population moving at one time, its limited transportation capacity is often hard to bear in the around one month lasting time. A railway ticket to home could be as precious as gold. We often call this nationwide migrating crusade "Chunyun" in China. In the special period, Chinese transportation industry, especially the railway transportation, receives the highest focus from all the aspects. What's the difference of Chunyun this year? What new efforts exerted by Chinese government? Let's hear the voice from the Ministry of Railways.  相似文献

On August 30 2007, after more than a decade of legislative efforts, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), China's top legislature, completed its third official reading of the draft Anti-monopoly Law (AML) and formally adopted it as thecountry's first comprehensive competition law. The Anti-monopoly Law will become effective on 1 August 2008, to guard against monopolistic conduct, safeguard competition, improve economic efficiency, protect public and consumer interests, and promote the healthy development of the socialist market economy. After 13 years of debate, the final adoption of the AML marks an important step toward an effective competition regime in China's move toward a market economy. This article introduces the history of China's Anti-monopoly Law, summarizes some of its key provisions, highlights some of the major improvements on the June 2007 draft, and discusses the major implications for foreign companies doing business in China.  相似文献

In the short run, China's export is a usable weather vane for the health of the global economy and the strength of consumer demand. A slump in export to some extent means economic depression elsewhere. Besides, the development direction choices of manufacturer will be pivotal to China's upgrade from export-oriented economy to a more well-rounded economy. The immediate threat to this upgrade is from the global slowdown that Chinese exports declined in November last year heralds tough times in 2009.  相似文献

Subprime mortgage crisis, which was triggered by a dramatic rise in mortgage delinquencies and foreclosures in the United States, has interrupted china's peaceful rise and has major adverse consequences for banks and financial markets around the globe. Although the direct impact of the subprime crisis is rather small to china's economy since the exposure of several national banks to the U.S. subprime lending market is relatively limited, there is no denying that the U.S. subprime crisis has been dragging down world's major stocks for months and making it difficult for china's foreign trade. It is predictable that the impact of this financial tsunami will shed its shadow on china's economy sooner or later. Experts are of the view that China may not be directly hit by the crisis as a result of its strong economic fundamentals, limited exposure to this particular variety of assets,  相似文献

Dragged by the U.S. subprime crisis and the soaring oil price, the global economy is slowing down, causing problems to China, the country which has continuously achieved miraculous economic growth. Apart from the accumulation of high inflation and risks of overheated economy, China is attacked by serious natural disasters ever since the beginning of 2008, including the snow disaster, the earthquake and the flood. It is obviously that China's priority now is to bring inflation under control so as to maintain the stable growth of economy.  相似文献

Influenced by the financial crisis, the overall bilateral trade volume between China and lran decreased .by 39% in the first quarter of 2009;however, the volume of Iran's exported crude oil to China has increased by 88% compared with the same period last year up to May of 2009, totaling 308.8 million tons. Iran, as the world's No.5 crude exporter, replaced Saudi Arabia as China's largest oil supplier. At the same time, China, as the world's No.2 oil consumer, now imports half of the crude oil it consumes, and has become Iran's third largest customer.  相似文献

By launching a currency war against China, the U.S. aims to prompt a diversion in global wealth allocation. With RMB in the center of the global currency war, Chinas economy is dancing on the rope in striving to strike an internal and external balance. If China's monetary policy is "kidnapped" by America, the consequences will be unimaginably disastrous. Low interest rate in the longrun will probably result in the same bubble economy as Japan had after the Plaza Accord, which can even be stabbed, Thus, it is necessary to have a systematic long-term strategy as to how to look after both partial and overall interests.  相似文献

Port is playing an important role in logistics supply chain and directly related to shipping line's benefits, shipper's benefits and freight forwarder's benefits. Since the downturn of worldwide financial crisis last year, with the decline of the import and export turnover through the world, especially, many American and European ports, the whole industry has suffered remarkable decrease in throughput. However, some of the proactive ports won't limit their eye- sight on EU and American markets, rather than transfer to looking for the business opportunities from the emerging market. Due to China is one of the important emerging powers to accelerate recovery the world economy, many foreign ports want to take an occupy here, and Zeebrugge Port is one of them.  相似文献

On behalf of the United States of America, U.S. Ambassador Clark T. Randt, Jr. and the American Embassy in Beijing and for the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou, I am pleased to extend congratulations on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of China's Foreign Trade magazine and the 100th Session of the Chinese Export Commodities Fair. Fifty years have passed since the 1st Session of the Trade Fair and the changes have been significant, but the intent - providing China with an opportunity to exhibit its increasingly sophisticated wares and an appreciative global market - remains the same. Moreover, during this time, China has moved from a command economy guided by administrative decree to one which is largely market-oriented and is now the fourth-largest economy in the world. This is a tremendous achievement.  相似文献

RMB:Niu!?
In China's lunar calendar, this year marches to the year of the Ox, "Niu" in Chinese, or "strong" and "prosperous" as the character's meaning. When mentioning China's currency, the RMB, "Niu" is how many people describe it. Actually, it's objective to say that the RMB has performed strongly indeed. We can easily pick up a group of figures to get this conclusion.  相似文献

Ancient, but longing to be modern
In most people's eyes, Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi, a province in western China, is an alias for "Ancient China", which is also what Patricia from Arizona, U.S., who was sitting next to me on my Xi'an flight thought as well. "My husband and I managed to spend one precious day there in our busy China trip schedule, just to have a look at the great Terra Cotta Warriors," Patricia's eyes were glimmering as we set off flying towards history. The Terra Cotta Warriors are the masterpiece of the First Qin Emperor, whose dynasty dates back to BC 221 - BC 207. Actually, I would prefer to refer to the city as "Chang'an", which used to be the city's name in the Tang dynasty (AD 618 - 907) when it served as China's capital during the most prosperous period in ancient Chinese history.  相似文献

Energy saving, emission reduction and economic development are major issues China has to meet in building a harmonious society. On one hand,China should pursue a sustainable, fast and sound economic development,on the other hand, she should try to decrease the overuse of energy resources and the environmental problems caused by the rapid economic growth. In this regard,on June 24,the Standing Committee of National People's Congress deliberated the draft of Energy Saving Law,according to which China is to take“resources saving”as a basic national policy. This is a key issue to the long-term benefits of China. With relevant questions,China's Foreign Trade interviewed Dr, Yonglong L(?),Secretary-general,Chinese Committee for SCOPE(Scientific Committee on Problems of the Environment/ICSU).and Research Professor at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Let's listen to Dr.L(?)'s comments with wisdom.[第一段]  相似文献
