企业战略联盟目前在全球范围内蓬勃兴起。越来越多的企业将其作为获得竞争优势、促进技术创新、分散经营风险、降低经营成本的重要战略。尽管战略联盟受到企业界的青睐,然而约有一半的联盟最终失败,其中一个重要的原因是联盟伙伴选择错误。选择正确的合作伙伴是建立战略联盟时不容忽视的重要环节。本文分析了企业战略联盟伙伴选择中存在的问题,提出了战略联盟伙伴选择的原则、步骤、标准,并提出企业科学的伙伴选择指标和选择方法一层次分析法来确立企业战略联盟伙伴优化选择模型。

The impact of implementing the airline deregulation act on stock returns

Between 1978 and 1985, the airline industry underwent a period of phased-in deregulation. Airline deregulation resulted from passage of the Airline Deregulation Act on October 24, 1978. This paper investigates the impact of two main provisions of this Act on the security returns in the airline industry. Using event study methodology, this study examines the impact of (1) airlines becoming responsible for determining their domestic routes and schedules (December 31, 1981) and (2) airlines being allowed to set domestic fares and engage in price competition (January 1, 1983) on the returns of a sample of airline common stocks. The study finds a positive market response around the phase-in provision permitting airlines to assume responsibility for determining their domestic routes and schedules, but a negative response around the phase-in provision allowing airlines to set domestic fares and engage in price competition.

Concordat or contract

The New Labour Government in England is seeking to promote public/private partnerships in health and social care as a key component of its political project. This article reports the findings from the first phase of an ongoing qualitative research study exploring the relationship between a private sector company and their public sector partners at four study sites. These findings indicate that organizations within the NHS do not view the development of public/private partnerships as a priority and furthermore currently have a limited ability to engage in strategic planning with the private sector. The findings are explored in the broader context of the evolution of ‘managed competition’ in health care systems and the role of partnership in that process.     

The factors determining the profitability of international airlines: Some econometric results

The deregulation of the US domestic airline market in 1978 and its apparent relative success continues to attract a great deal of interest among US and other economists. This uniquely US experience has clearly shown that factors such as market contestability, the multiple output nature of costs, the structure of networks and airport presence play a crucial role in the survival and, ultimately, profitability of relatively free and unregulated airlines. However, most international airlines still operate in a heavily regulated environment. While the tendency is clearly toward liberalization, the question remains: What can these airlines do to improve their profitability within this framework? Our results indicate that profitable airlines have high passenger load factors, a relatively low proportion of capacity related costs, younger and more efficient fleets and supplement their passenger loads with freight.     

Strategic integration of HRM and firm performance in a changing environment in China: the impact of organisational effectiveness as a mediator

In the context of dramatic changes in China, this paper investigates the role of organisational effectiveness as a mediator in the relationship between the strategic integration of human resource management (HRM) and firm financial performance. Our study is based on the survey responses of 618 managers in state-owned and private (domestic and foreign-invested) enterprises in China. While most studies of the linkage between HRM practices and firm performance in China have measured firm financial performance or used an ad hoc combination of financial and non-financial indicators, we argue for a distinction to be made between non-financial organisational effectiveness and financial performance. As hypothesised, controlling for sector (state-owned vs. private), we find positive relationships between perceived changing business environment and strategic integration of HRM, and between strategic integration of HRM and organisational effectiveness. Our research adds an important conceptual link by showing that organisational effectiveness plays an important role as a mediator in the HRM and firm financial performance relationship and reinforces the importance of the organisational and environmental context for HRM.

The article reviews private equity, investor value and ownership interests, details union recognition at the Automobile Association (AA) before and after its acquisition by private equity, and reviews the GMB's wider campaign of opposition to private equity ownership.     

Strategic and environmental determinants of HRM innovations in post-socialist Poland

In the last two decades, research in human resource management has increasingly focused on the strategic linkage between the activities of the human resource function and the business goals of enterprises. Most of the theoretical and empirical work in this area has focused on the US context. This paper extends this research to a non-US business environment. Specifically, we examine data from 303 state-owned, domestic private and foreign-owned Polish firms to test how strategic and environmental variables are related to the adoption of human resource innovations. This analysis suggests that business strategies, local labour markets and the presence of foreign competition are related to the complexity and extensiveness of firm-level human resource practices.

中国的民营企业近几年受国际金融危机及国内经济发展速度放缓的状况影响,民营企业如何通过产业升级在逆境中发展就显得尤为重要和迫切。XJ集团2013年初定下了"产业升级、重点突破"为其集团战略之一,笔者运用所学的哲学理论对其公司战略进行另一层面分析,希望通过分析,大致掌握相关哲学理论的实际运用方法和运用技巧。文章主要从哲学视角探讨XJ集团产业升级调整过程中整体与部分的关系,提出XJ集团产业升级的重点在于以家具流通产业升级为战略牵引,通过发挥集团总部战略中心的作用,整体带动XJ集团整体产业融合。
