ABSTRACTPerformance measurement (PM) has become increasingly popular in the management of public sector organizations (PSOs). This is somewhat paradoxical considering that PM has been criticized for having dysfunctional consequences. Although there are reasons to believe that PM may have dysfunctional consequences, when they occur has not been clarified. The aim of this research is to conceptualize the dysfunctional consequences of PM in PSOs. Based on complementarity theory and contingency theory we conclude that dysfunctional consequences of PM are a matter of interactions between PM design and PM use, between control practices in the control system and between PM and context. 相似文献

Project Management Second Order (PM‐2) is based on new insights in modern natural and social sciences, which were analyzed in a research program. This was explained in a previously published article in this journal (Saynisch, 2010 ). PM‐2 is a new paradigm and will be the leading concept for the next decades. The concept of PM‐2 was awarded the IPMA Research Award 2007 and the International Centre for Complex Project Management Research Prize 2010. The model represents a reference model. This article will explain the genesis of PM‐2 as well as the principles, methods, and processes. Further, practical use will be discussed and real examples of transfer will be shown as well as PM‐2 in the context of project‐oriented companies. Integration aspects of CPMCS (ICCPM), ICB3 (IPMA), PMBOK® Guide/OPM3® (PMI) as a future view will be shown. 相似文献

The aim of our research is to disentangle the complex relations among lean bundles and operational performance. In particular,
we focus on the direct and mediating effects on operational performance of three of the main lean manufacturing bundles, namely
Just in Time (JIT), Total Quality Management (TQM) and Human Resource Management (HRM). We run statistical analysis on the
High Performance Manufacturing round III database, a survey involving 266 plants in nine countries across three different
industries. Our results show that JIT and TQM have a direct and positive effect on operational performance while HRM has a
mediated effect on it. Theoretical and managerial implications of our findings are then drawn and discussed. 相似文献

There have been numerous criticisms of traditional performance appraisal systems made by Total Quality Management (TQM) advocates. This article describes a performance appraisal and management system that addresses many TQM concerns about appraisal systems. The Performance Distribution Assessment method (PDA) explicitly considers system versus person sources of performance variation and provides a means for developing “targeted” performance and quality improvement programs. The literature regarding the development and validity of the PDA method is reviewed, and the compatibility of this appraisal system with quality management principles is discussed. 相似文献
