China to Open Direct Flights to South America This Year

CAAC stated a few days ago, it encourages China airline companies to take various kinds of cooperative measures to "fly out" as soon as possible, and to open up direct flight to South America within 2005.It is reported that from 2005, airline companies' application for increasing international service no longer needs to be approved but only needs to be put on file. Up to now, China has signed 96 bilateral agreements on air service with other countries.     

Air Canada to Introduce non-Stop Flight from Beijing to Toronto

Too big to succeed or too big to fail?

It is often argued that smaller/younger firms are more innovative than older/larger firms—the latter may be “too big to succeed.” We show in the context of a simple industry model with consumer search frictions why evidence suggesting that smaller or younger firms are more successful at innovation may be subject to sample selection bias. Specifically, smaller more recent entrants may appear to innovate more successfully simply because unsuccessful larger incumbent firms’ size advantage enables them to survive when unsuccessful smaller ones cannot—they may be “too big to fail.”
