The purpose of this research is to understand the main factors that determine users’ continuance intention to use social mobile Apps, considering two utilitarian (i.e., perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use) variables and a hedonic (i.e., perceived enjoyment) variable. As social mobile Apps may be utilitarian or hedonic, we aim to evaluate possible differences in the significance of the aforementioned antecedent factors in utilitarian Apps (i.e., TripAdvisor) and hedonic Apps (i.e., Instagram). The data were collected from an international sample of users; the Partial Least Squares method was applied to analyze the research model, using SMARTPLS 3.0. To analyze the moderating effects, a multi-group PLS analysis was carried out to compare the differences between the path relationships in the two Apps. The results show that continuance intention to use is explained by perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, perceived enjoyment, satisfaction and user experience (control variable), and the impact of utilitarian variables is generally greater for utilitarian Apps, whereas the impact of perceived enjoyment is higher for hedonic Apps. This study contributes to the general body of knowledge about mobile Apps by providing a comprehensive theoretical foundation and practical implications that illuminate the continuance use of social mobile Apps.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Despite the importance of mobile commerce (m-commerce) as an emerging channel of communication, marketing, and sales in business, few studies address how consumers decide to use m-commerce. In this study, we develop a conceptual framework for investigating the role of the perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and perceived enjoyment in determining consumers' intention to use m-commerce. We also investigate the importance of social influence in determining intention to use m-commerce. We draw on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) to develop our theoretical model. The empirical examination of our research model indicates that extrinsic and intrinsic motivations positively impact intention to use m-commerce. The current research model and its results could provide a rigorous basis for understanding consumers' behavior in wireless contexts.  相似文献

This paper examines the variables influencing a consumer's satisfaction and continuous use of a multichannel retailer's mobile application. Drawing upon the Expectation Confirmation Model for Information Technologies, post-adoption literature, and consumer behavior literature, we assess pertinent factors on the continuous usage of multichannel retailers' mobile apps. Through a sample of 1009 consumers who retained a retailer's mobile app for more than 6 months and conducting Structural Equation Modelling, the findings illustrate that utilitarian variables (perceived usefulness, ease of use, and personalization), hedonic variables (perceived enjoyment), and a brand-related variable (consumer loyalty intention toward the retailer's brand), play a significant role in influencing continuous usage of multichannel retailers' mobile apps. In contrast to e-commerce research, the study outlines that escapism plays a negative role in both consumer satisfaction and intention to continue to use a multichannel retailer's mobile app. Previous research points to the fact that consumers' retention of retailers' apps is low. This paper contributes to the emerging literature on consumers' continuous use of retailers' mobile apps through enhancing our understanding of technology and non-technology-related variables.  相似文献

Using the S-O-R model, we investigate the impact of situational factors (interpersonal influence, visual appeal, and portability) on hedonic and utilitarian web browsing and expand the theory by exploring the moderating roles of scarcity and serendipity. Data were collected from 988 participants via an online survey. Structural equation modeling was performed using AMOS 23. The results show that the situational factors positively influence hedonic and utilitarian web browsing. Scarcity and serendipity have a significant moderating role in the relationship between hedonic web browsing, utilitarian web browsing, and cosmetics m-commerce purchase intention. This study hopes to provide a deeper understanding of consumer behavior and attitudes in the cosmetics market in the m-commerce context.  相似文献

This study examines how the consumers' perceived values (utilitarian and hedonic values) impact their impulse buying behavior (IBB) in the mobile commerce (m-commerce) context. Moreover, we view interpersonal influence as a moderator and test its impact on the correlation between the consumers' perceived value and their IBB. Data were collected through a survey in China (n = 199). The results show that environmental stimuli significantly influence consumer perceived values (i.e., perceived utilitarian value and perceived hedonic value), and the consumers’ perception of hedonic value significantly and directly impacts their IBB. In addition, the interaction effect of perceived hedonic value and interpersonal influence significantly affects IBB. The findings provide valuable guidance for m-commerce retailers to induce consumer IBB.  相似文献

Interactive Voice Assistants (IVAs) are intelligent conversational agents capable of communicating with users using natural language. Although IVAs are more frequent in our lives, customer experience research with these agents is still in its infancy. This article aims to identify the factors that form the customer experience (CX) with Alexa and assesses its impact on traditional marketing outcomes: satisfaction and recommendation. This research presents a conceptual model of CX with IVAs and an empirical validation of the model using Structural Equation Modelling based on a sample of 580 IVA users. The results confirm that CX is a multidimensional higher-order construct composed of six factors (usefulness, ease of use, trust, privacy concerns, communication skills, and enjoyment). We also highlight the positive impact of experience on satisfaction and recommendation. Finally, we test the enthusiasm moderating role, showing its negative influence on the investigated relationships. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.  相似文献

Electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM) dispersion, reflecting the extent of reviewers’ opinion divergence regarding a product, determines consumer decisions. Drawing upon the endowment effect and attribution literature, this research proposes that the endowment effect mediates the influence of eWOM dispersion on attributional inferences, and the display formats of eWOM dispersion (“horizontal bar chart” vs. “eWOM content”) moderate the mediating influence of endowment effect on attributional inferences of eWOM dispersion. Three complementary studies reveal three key insights in this setting. First, when consumers already having an emotional attachment to a product and subsequently encountering dispersive eWOM, the higher the level of eWOM dispersion, the stronger the endowment effect. Secondly, In such circumstance, the stronger endowment effect promotes more reviewer-related attribution inference of high-dispersion eWOM, and the weaker endowment effect promotes more product-related attribution inference of low-dispersion eWOM. Third, the positive influence of eWOM dispersion on endowment effect is stronger for eWOM dispersion in the complexity or disfluency display format (i.e. “reviewers’ impression of product”) than for eWOM dispersion in the simply of fluency display format (i.e. “horizontal bar chart”), more importantly, the mediating influence of endowment effect on attributional inferences is moderated by the display formats of eWOM dispersion, and this findings persists even when product category (hedonic vs. utilitarian) is taken into consideration. The theoretical implications for the eWOM dispersion and attribution literature and practical implications for online retailers are discussed.  相似文献

This study aims at developing and validating a measurement model for customer engagement with specific focus on mobile devices for shopping. Further, role of customer engagement in building customer loyalty is explored. The research in this investigation used three studies for developing customer engagement scale and validating the proposed model. The study involved data collection from experts and users through varied methods including in-depth interviews, and surveys. Further structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data. Findings of this study include development and validation of customer engagement as second order construct arising out of six different customer experiences - social-facilitation, self-connect, intrinsic enjoyment, time-filler, utilitarian and monetary evaluation experiences. Further, the study established significant role of customer engagement in predicting customer loyalty in addition to existing constructs of satisfaction and convenience. This study contributes to evolving scholarly research on customer engagement. This study further provides a framework to retailers for devising matrices to track experiences and engagement of customers on mobile devices for shopping. Further, retailers may be able to use customer engagement to differentiate themselves from competition in attracting merchants and advertisers.  相似文献

This research aims to examine how the website quality affects the intention of digital library users to use the website by considering factors of user's attitudes, online co-creation experiences, and electronic word-of-mouth. The statistical population of the research is composed of the users of Astan Qods Razavi digital library, which is one of the oldest digital libraries in Iran. Data was collected from 402 participants who use the library and analyzed in SPSS and PLS softwares. Construct validity was assessed and confirmed using convergent validity and divergent validity. Data reliability was assessed and confirmed using Cronbach's alpha and composite reliability. The research confirms that website quality affects the attitudes of users towards the website and their intention to participate in online co-creation and eWOM. The effects of user's attitudes to the online co-creation experience, eWOM, and intention to use the library, as well as the effects of the online co-creation experience and eWOM on the intention to use the digital library were also confirmed. Considering the results of the research, it is recommended to digital libraries to provide an efficient user-friendly website designed to increase user participation and establish close contact with them and in this way increase their intention to use digital library services.  相似文献

The penetration of mobile devices has reshaped consumers’ shopping journeys, drawing the attention of both scholars and practitioners. Over the last two decades, a rich strand of empirical studies across disciplines has been conducted on the factors underlying mobile shopping behavior. We provide and test a comprehensive framework for both the key drivers of consumers’ initial adoption and the continuance intention to use mobile devices for purchasing. To achieve this goal, we conduct a meta-analysis, in which we integrate the findings from the literature and apply a structural equation modeling approach. Our work builds on the existing theories (Technology Acceptance Model, Theory of Planned Behavior, and Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology) and offers an extensive understanding of the variables that shape mobile shopping behavior. Based on 207 articles, with 228 studies, 4,354 effect sizes, a total sample size of 68,944 shoppers, our findings show that mobile shopping is influenced by variables that reflect the evolution of technological innovations and the consequent improvement of the functionality and convenience of mobile devices (previous digital experience and ubiquity). Managerially, based on these findings, we provide a future research agenda and the key implications for firms to develop for a successful marketing strategy throughout the mobile customer journey. Companies should focus on both utilitarian and hedonic variables to stimulate the intention to use the mobile for the first time. In addition, to increase continuance intention to use mobile for shopping, they improve customer satisfaction, through enjoyment and the three dimensions of quality of the mobile channel.  相似文献

This paper compares the explanatory power of consumer engagement (CE) regarding service continuance intention with the variables of attitude (utilitarian and hedonic) and satisfaction. Survey data were collected from users of mobile music (n = 596) and mobile parking (n = 297) services. The partial least squares method was applied to analyze the data. In line with expectations, the findings show that attitude and satisfaction are superior drivers of service continuance intention compared to CE when service is used for utilitarian reasons. In contrast, when service consumption is driven by hedonic reasons, CE is a stronger driver than satisfaction. However, no evidence for the superiority of CE over attitude was found in the hedonic context.  相似文献

This study explores intrinsic (i.e., perceived enjoyment, perceived involvement) and extrinsic motivator (i.e., perceived usefulness, convenience, perceived ease of use) for usage continuance of hedonic mobile applications (apps). Satisfaction serves as an important link between motivators and continued willingness to use, therefore its effect was analysed through mediation. Data was collected through an online survey and a total of 720 valid responses were received. Results showed that intrinsic motivators had a significant effect on continued willingness to use (CWU) and extrinsic motivators on satisfaction for hedonic mobile apps. Extrinsic motivators strongly mediate the relationship between intrinsic motivators and satisfaction. Factors related to viewing patterns (i.e., viewing frequency, viewing time) and demographic factors (i.e., age, education) moderated relationships in the model. This study provides significant theoretical and practical implications for researchers in the domain of mobile applications. The study introduces convenience as a determinant of satisfaction and validates the existence of duality for dimensions of motivators.  相似文献

This paper investigates how mobile app design and social media can be used to influence the intention for continued use of location-based mobile apps. Uses and gratification theory and information systems success model are used to explore the key factors of continued usage intention. Three hundred and fifty-six valid questionnaires were collected to test the research model. The results showed that perceived usefulness, enjoyment, sense of belonging would significantly influence the usage habit and satisfaction of bicycle-based exercise app. In particular, the habit and satisfaction had strong impact on the intention for continued use. This study extended the findings of exercises with mobile apps and provided implications for the developers and operators of fitness and leisure-oriented apps.  相似文献

Previous retailing studies have linked consumer satisfaction to perceived hedonic or utilitarian product value. This research extends previous studies by examining how the context in which the product is purchased (store attributes) and product value influence consumer satisfaction. We conducted a field study with 213 consumers attending two major running events. The findings from structural equation modelling suggest that a specific combination of store attributes (tangible and intangible) and hedonic product value has a positive influence on satisfaction. Results also show that tangible store attributes have a stronger positive impact on utilitarian (vs. hedonic) product value, and that intangible store attributes have a positive impact on hedonic product value. However, we found that only hedonic product value has a positive impact on satisfaction. This research contributes to theory by showing that a match between store attributes (tangible and intangible) and hedonic product value can positively influence satisfaction. In managerial terms, the findings provide insights on how to improve consumer satisfaction in retail environments through store attributes and hedonic product value.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

Encouraging students to share positive online reviews should not be regarded only as a marketing tool. This study aims to examine (i) the relationship between positive online reviews behaviour for university and students’ well-being; and (ii) the impact of eWOM behaviour on students’ psychological well-being among active (those who share and read information) and passive (those who only read information) social media users. An online survey was conducted to examine the interplay of university brand identification, positive eWOM behaviour, and university life satisfaction on students’ psychological well-being. Results found that students who share positive reviews about university on social media tend to have better psychological health. This study also revealed that active social media users benefit more in terms of well-being through sharing positive online reviews about their universities. Implications for theory and practice of social media marketing in the higher education context are discussed.  相似文献

This article deals with the novel technology of instant shopping. As this technology has yet to be considered in a scientific context, the article first defines the term instant shopping, distinguishing it from m-commerce and s-commerce. The article then gives an overview on acceptance studies in the context of e-commerce that have been conducted over the last five years. Building on this, the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is adapted and operationalized for the current context. One result of the study in this article, conducted among Instagram users on the topic of instant shopping, showed that perceived enjoyment has a particularly strong impact on the intention to use.  相似文献

Compared with laptop or desktop computers, mobile devices offer greater flexibility in time and space, thus enabling consumers to be connected online more continually. In addition, their small size, portability and ease of use with location-based capabilities facilitate sending and receiving timely information in the right place. Drawing upon a social influence model proposed by Dholakia et al. (2004), this paper proposes a causal model for consumer participation in electronic word of mouth (eWOM), and compares the effects of PC-based and mobile-based eWOM (hereafter pcWOM and mWOM, respectively). The paper posits social identity, motivations (purposive value, social enhancement and intrinsic enjoyment), inherent novelty seeking and opinion leadership as antecedents affecting desire (individual-level driver) and social intention (grouplevel driver) to engage in eWOM. A total of 271 survey responses were collected from consumers in Japan. The proposed model fits the data reasonably well; all hypotheses are supported. The results reveal that desire only partially mediates the effects on social intention of social identity. Compared with pcWOM participants, mWOM participants exhibit significantly higher perceptions on social intention, intrinsic enjoyment and cognitive social identity. After recognising important limitations, theoretical implications are discussed and future research directions suggested.  相似文献

With the rapid diffusion of smart technologies, a new retail mode, the smart shop, has received increasing attention from both academia and practitioners in the 5G era. However, previous studies on smart shops have largely focused on the effects of smart technologies on technology adoption rather than customer shopping behaviors. To fill this gap, this study applies the hedonic information systems acceptance model (HISAM) to identify the utilitarian and hedonic motivations affecting consumer shopping intention. In addition, we characterize a second-order formative construct, technology readiness, as a technology-related personality to test its moderating role in the research model in the marketing context when consumer behaviors may differ due to individual characteristics. Using structural equation modeling (SEM), we applied SmartPLS 3.2.8 to analyze 298 valid samples. The results show that perceived ease of use significantly affects perceived usefulness and perceived enjoyment, in turn, these three factors directly influence shopping intention. Additionally, perceived ease of use will have a stronger impact on perceived usefulness and shopping intention when the customer has a high level of technology readiness. Finally, theoretical and practical suggestions and future research directions are also discussed.  相似文献

This research aims to propose an extended Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) that will provide better understanding of the acceptance of purchasing using smartphones. In fact, satisfaction toward the visit of the mobile Web site and the perceived enjoyment are added to the original model. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 400 French purchasers and non-purchasers. The structural model analysis has highlighted two differences between the two individuals’ profiles. The first is the positive and significant impact of perceived enjoyment on the intention to use smartphones to make purchases, since it is only significant amongst the purchasers. The second difference concerns the impact of satisfaction on the intention to use smartphones for purchases, which is significant only among the purchasers. Managerial implications are further discussed.  相似文献
