A framework for designing an information system for planning and monitoring of rural health services is proposed in the Indian context. For effective monitoring the framework emphasises selection of a set of programmed and non-programme indicators on inputs, activities, efficiency and impact and their integration at the district level. For planning, a village level data base is proposed which will integrate environmental data with health programme data. Illustrative examples are provided for key features of the MIS and finally those elements of the information system which are either too complex or too voluminous to be handled manually are identified and the possibility of using computers for such analysis is explored.  相似文献

This study proposes a novel virtual collaborative framework to assist in analyzing and designing logistical processes for inter-firm merger/acquisitions in the IC foundry industry. To elucidate the different but correlated issues when developing the framework, enterprise ontology theory is adopted to deal with knowledge-sharing problems involving merger/acquisition partners. Additionally, several analytical methods, including collaborative production lifecycle chain diagram, process chain diagram and unified modeling language (UML), are utilized for analyzing issues at different levels to design a virtual prototype for mergers/acquisitions.  相似文献

Many of today’s global scientific challenges require the joint involvement of researchers from different disciplinary backgrounds (social sciences, environmental sciences, climatology, medicine, etc.). Such interdisciplinary research teams face many challenges resulting from differences in training and scientific culture. Interdisciplinary education programs are required to train truly interdisciplinary scientists with respect to the critical factor skills and competences. For that purpose this paper presents the Methodology for Interdisciplinary Research (MIR) framework. The MIR framework was developed to help cross disciplinary borders, especially those between the natural sciences and the social sciences. The framework has been specifically constructed to facilitate the design of interdisciplinary scientific research, and can be applied in an educational program, as a reference for monitoring the phases of interdisciplinary research, and as a tool to design such research in a process approach. It is suitable for research projects of different sizes and levels of complexity, and it allows for a range of methods’ combinations (case study, mixed methods, etc.). The different phases of designing interdisciplinary research in the MIR framework are described and illustrated by real-life applications in teaching and research. We further discuss the framework’s utility in research design in landscape architecture, mixed methods research, and provide an outlook to the framework’s potential in inclusive interdisciplinary research, and last but not least, research integrity.  相似文献

Group technology is a manufacturing philosophy that attempts to provide some of the operational advantages of a line layout while maintaining some of the strategic advantages of the job shop layout. In designing a productive process that will adopt this manufacturing strategy, one of the primary problems encountered is the formation of component families and production cells. The production cell is a group of machines or processes of functionally dissimilar types that are placed together and dedicated to the manufacture of a specific range of component families.Several researchers in operations management have proposed methods of forming production cells and component families. These methods differ in terms of information requirements and also in terms of the final cell design. Furthermore, the objectives for each method are quite different and it thus seems that the focus has been on the method rather than its appropriateness in a particular situation. This article reviews some of the most publicized methods of group formation and analyzes the type of cells that could be formed using these methods. Subsequently, an evaluative framework is presented where the relative advantages of each type of production cell are discussed in terms of several strategic and operational factors. This framework is of particular use as it highlights the fact that in implementing a cellular manufacturing system, most organizations will face a trade-off of strategic and operational “costs.” Finally, the appropriateness of the cell types with respect to the degree of customer interaction is also discussed.  相似文献
