We adopt social capital theory to develop a conceptual model and examine the interactive relationships among guanxi, norms, trust and knowledge sharing. Most importantly, we discuss interpersonal relationships in the context of Chinese culture and apply it as a guanxi. This study aims both to build three dimensions of social capital and investigate their precise association with knowledge sharing. To test the model, we use data collected from 253 effective questionnaires in Taiwan's high-tech industries. Our results show that (1) guanxi, norms and trust positively influence knowledge sharing; (2) guanxi and norms positively influence trust; (3) trust mediates guanxi and knowledge sharing; (4) trust partially mediates norms and knowledge sharing. These findings could be useful in academic fields and practical applications. We also construct a theoretical model of guanxi, trust and norms for future research. 相似文献

This article adds historical and geographical specificity to the link between city building and laboratorization processes. It does so by way of the example of housing in mid‐twentieth‐century Britain. Housing provision at this time saw an intensification of the relationship between architectural design and science by way of the emergent field of building science as well as new social‐science studies of householder satisfaction. The article focuses on two examples of these housing sciences, tracing their role in the production of British modern housing. The first example focuses on a set of experiments conducted on ventilation and heating at Britain's Building Research Station. The second example examines the social science of a post‐occupancy study of multi‐storey flats in Glasgow. The article argues that mid‐twentieth‐century housing construction and provision was structured in and through a laboratory logic that had a complex geography and temporality. In the sciences of housing conducted during this period there is a conflation and hybridization of the space of the laboratory, the site of the house and the action of the experiment. 相似文献

The notion of the ‘urban laboratory’ is increasingly striking a chord with actors involved in urban change. Is this term simply a metaphor for urban development or does it suggest urbanization by substantially different means? To answer this question, we review the work of science and technology studies (STS) scholars who have empirically investigated laboratories and practices of experimentation over the past three decades to understand the significance of these spaces of experimentation in urban contexts. Based on this overview of laboratory studies, we argue that urban laboratories and experimentation involve three key achievements — situatedness, change‐orientation and contingency — that are useful for evaluating and critiquing those practices that claim to be urban laboratories. We conclude by considering some future directions of research on urban laboratories. 相似文献
