Abstract

It is often assumed that citizens evaluate government based on service quality or outcomes (such as safe neighbourhoods or good schools), but aspects of administrative process (such as fairness and respect) are also important. Using data from two US surveys, this study examines how service quality and administrative process influence citizens’ evaluations of government. Results indicate that service quality matters most to ratings of the community; in contrast, administrative process is the dominant driver of trust; and both quality and process have large effects on judgements about government’s overall job performance. Implications for public management research and practice are discussed.  相似文献

The integrated medical supply inventory control system introduced in this study is a hybrid system that is shaped by the nature of medical supply, usage and storage capacity limitations of health care facilities. The system links demand, service provided at the clinic, health care service provider's information, inventory storage data and decision support tools into an integrated information system. ABC analysis method, economic order quantity model, two-bin method and safety stock concept are applied as decision support models to tackle inventory management issues at health care facilities. In the decision support module, each medical item and storage location has been scrutinised to determine the best-fit inventory control policy. The pilot case study demonstrates that the integrated medical supply information system holds several advantages for inventory managers, since it entails benefits of deploying enterprise information systems to manage medical supply and better patient services.  相似文献

Demographics, especially the size and the age composition of the population, contribute substantially to the growth and structure of any economy. Over the next 55 years, the age composition of the US population will change dramatically, as the post-World War II ‘baby boom’ ages into retirement. In this paper, we use a long-term interindustry macro model of the US economy to examine how the age composition of the US population affects overall economic growth as well as the output/employment structure of the economy. We find that the system of funding government commitments to pension and medical care for the elderly is a primary channel through which demographic effects translate into economic effects.  相似文献

出租汽车服务行业稳定已经成为各方关注的焦点.影响稳定的原因错综复杂,发展面临挑战.从对巡游服务、服务对象、政府管制、行业定位等分析,提出服务水平和服务质量是行业发展的永恒的主题.通过出租汽车需求分析,认为影响稳定的核心因素是出租汽车经营权.现行对行业的保护使运力供给与服务严重不平衡,并促成出租汽车经营权高价格,出现新的不稳定因素.管制政策需要强化和调整,尽快投放运力、实施运价顺价政策、取消经营权和产权分离的挂靠的公司形式等是当前管制政策的首要任务,及相应的行业稳定与发展的对策建议.  相似文献

Abstract

The article examines the effects of market-type contracting on the capacity of the government to integrate public service stakeholders and to assure coherence in service provision. The study focuses on the case of the Estonian out-of-hospital emergency medical care and analyses it through an analytical framework, concentrating on basic coordination mechanisms, coordination resources and their application in a specific policy field. It is found that effective market-based coordination presumes long-term learning and the use of various coordination resources that go beyond simple bargaining. In addition, contracting for service delivery has a significant influence on the capacity of the government to coordinate both policy-making and the interlinkages of different policies.  相似文献

This research aims to restructure a Simpler Quality of e-Life Indicators (SEQOL) and use this simpler structure to understand whether the usage of computer and Internet will make impacts on quality of life in Taiwan. By using telephone interviews, 3,563 valid respondents, aged 15 and above with Taiwan nationality, were interviewed. After performing exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability and validity assessment, a simpler factor structure of the SEQOL was formed. The new structure contains 24 items categorized into seven domains: Socioeconomic status, Selfesteem, Social competence, Life freedom, Community support, Psychological pressure and physical health. This research also found that gender divide on most domains did not exist. Those who are aged between 35 and 54 exhibit the highest satisfaction. Residents with university degree have the highest satisfaction on their quality of life and the residents of northern Taiwan have the lowest satisfaction. People who having computer at home show higher satisfaction on quality of life in dimensions of overall, Socioeconomic Status, Social Competence, Psychological Pressure, and Physical Health. On overall quality of life, there is no significant difference between Internet user and non user. But, People who having access to Internet show higher satisfaction on quality of life in dimensions of Socioeconomic Status, Social Competence, Psychological Pressure, and Physical Health, oppositely, have lower satisfaction on quality of life in dimensions of Life Freedom and Community Support.  相似文献

A model of the provision of health care facilities is outlined. This model is based on a framework developed in central place theory and is concerned with the scale, frequency and service area structure of health care facilities. Certain modifications to the model are proposed and this provides a framework for dealing with the problem of adjustment in systems of service provision. Three types of adjustment, all involving different degrees of centralization, are considered. Each type of adjustment results in a particular modification to the spatial structure of the hierarchical system. Consideration is then briefly given to a number of ways in which this general approach may be made more realistic, in order to deal with actual systems of service provision.  相似文献

现代医院管理是以人力资源管理为核心的管理。人力资源管理就是在医院管理中要坚持和贯彻"以人为本",将"人"和"工作"和谐地融合起来,实现医院和员工的双赢,达到利益最大化。但由于受计划经济的影响,医院的人事管理仍旧是传统意义上的人事管理,医院人事部门仅仅是一个行政部门,不能为医院的员工提供优质的人力资源产品和服务,这在很大程度上影响了医院的发展和整个医疗干部队伍素质的提高,并未实现医院和员工的双赢。为此,医院必须进行人事制度改革和加强人力资源管理。  相似文献
