经济金融化、企业异质性与银行风险承担研究

本文运用中国数据构建经济金融化指数,以此衡量我国经济金融化的态势及波动。研究表明,经济金融化指数能够较好反映我国经济金融化情况,1996年以来我国经济金融化稳步上升,兼具阶段性波动,这与经济全球化、金融自由化的趋势以及宏观政策紧密联系。本文运用所构建的经济金融化指数、银行微观数据以及其他宏观数据,研究了经济金融化对银行风险承担的影响。研究表明,经济金融化对银行风险承担存在U型影响机制,即经济金融化有助于降低银行风险承担水平,但过度经济金融化则会提高银行风险承担水平,同时经济金融化对全国性银行风险承担的负向影响比较显著。根据研究结论,本文提出了坚持适宜性,防止过度的经济金融化;完善金融监管框架,强化金融业审慎监管;审慎推进金融业改革,防止实体经济“泛金融化”等针对性建议。

Creation of an Islamic stock index in West Africa

Islamic finance, which has become inescapable has entered into financial markets by offering solutions consistent with the precepts of the Shariah. The objective of this paper is to propose the creation of an Islamic stock index in West Africa. The choice of market values ​​requires extra financial and financial screening system. The results show that 10% of the securities in Nigeria Stock Exchange , the Regional Stock Exchange (Brvm) and the Ghana Stock Exchange (Gse) were selected to form the Islamic index " Ecowas Shariah index.     

一线金融监管的治理效应及其作用机制——兼论《证券交易所管理办法》的修订效果

近年来,加强以沪深交易所为主要依托的一线金融监管成为"转变政府职能、创新监管方式"的重要举措.本文基于2004—2018年沪深交易所处罚公告数据,探讨了一线金融监管的治理效应及其作用机制.实证研究发现:(1)由于沪深交易所天然的信息优势和治理效应,一线金融监管提升了上市公司的信息披露质量和内部治理水平,该作用效果受到被处罚次数和公示单位的影响.(2)机制检验表明,一线金融监管还具有外溢效应:可通过引发媒体和投资者的普遍关注形成有效的监管合力,从而实现共同维护资本市场秩序的目的.(3)2017年修订的《证券交易所管理办法》进一步强化了一线金融监管效果.通过上述研究,本文一方面丰富了金融监管、信息披露、内部治理效果这些领域的研究;另一方面旨在通过检验一线金融监管的治理效应,为政府职能部门"放松管制、加强监管"提供经验证据.     

Do competing specialists and preferencing dealers affect market quality?

We empirically demonstrate that the opportunities the BostonStock Exchange and the Cincinnati Stock Exchange offer membersto take the other side of their customers' orders through affiliatedmarket makers (to internalize orders) have little short-runeffect on posted or effective bid-ask spreads. This is truedespite substantial movement of order flow away from the NewYork Stock Exchange when trading under one of these regionalstock exchange programs begins. These results contrast withthe adverse effects of market fragmentation and internalizationpredicted by some theoretical market microstructure analysesand the popular financial press.     

我国上市公司信息披露质量对其财务绩效影响的实证研究——基于非线性和非对称性的视角

本文以2006-2010年的深市A股上市公司为样本,以每股收益为上市公司财务绩效的替代变量,以深交所对上市公司信息披露考评结果作为信息披露质量的替代变量,研究了我国上市公司信息披露质量对其财务绩效的影响。结果表明：上市公司信息披露质量对其财务绩效的影响是非线性的,具体表现为正u型;上市公司信息披露质量的变动对其财务绩效的影响是非对称的。最后,本文根据回归分析结果提出了相应的政策建议。     

The Evolution of Consolidated Financial Reporting in Australia

This paper reviews the history of financial reporting by corporate groups in Australia, and in particular, the States of New South Wales and Victoria. Changes in Statutory and Stock Exchange rules governing consolidated reporting are described and the financial reporting practices of Australian holding companies between 1930 and 1962 are surveyed. The evidence indicates that (a) while the practice was not widespread, some Australian holding companies supplemented their financial statements with consolidated financial statements prior to the incorporation of such a requirement in either legislation or Stock Exchange listing requirements; (b) the influence of Stock Exchanges on the evolution of this practice is somewhat less than that previously attributed to it; and (c) the rapid spread of this form of reporting in an essentially unregulated environment (N.S. W.) coincided with the development of a market for public debt securities.     

Is portfolio diversification possible in integrated markets? Evidence from South Eastern Europe

A remarkable process of financial integration has taken place throughout the world capital markets over the last decades. In line with this integration process, the effect of financial integration locally and/or globally has been one of the contemporary topics of interest to academics, practitioners as well as policy makers. In this study, we investigate the availability of portfolio diversification benefits after the initiation of the South Eastern Europe Link (the SEE Link) trading platform in 2016 as a connecting hub for stock markets in the South Eastern European region. Our empirical methodology is primarily based on various static and dynamic correlation (Dynamic Conditional Correlation-GARCH) and regression (Autoregressive Distributed Lag, Fully Modified Ordinary Least Squares, Dynamic Ordinary Least Squares, Markov Switching Regression Model and Kalman Filter Model) analyses. We employ our methods for a daily frequency stock exchange (namely, the Zagreb Stock Exchange and Bulgarian Stock Exchange) return data between January 4, 2005 and December 30, 2019. The findings reveal that the two stock exchanges have a significantly decreasing pattern of correlation and regression relationship over the sample period implying the existence of diversification opportunities in the SEE Link markets.     

The pricing of foreign exchange risk around the Asian financial crisis: evidence from Taiwan's stock market

The volatile exchange rate movement during the Asian financial crisis has led global investors to re-evaluate the importance of currency exposures in Asian stock markets. In this paper, we examine industry-level currency risk of Taiwan's stock market around the Asian financial crisis. The results show that most export-oriented industries, except for the electronics industry, are positively affected by the depreciation of the New Taiwan Dollars (NTD) against the US Dollars (USD). We also find that the magnitude of currency risk is less for banking and electronics industries in the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) than for those in the over-the-counter (OTC) security exchange. Our results are consistent with the findings of Chow et al. (J. Financial Res. 2 (1997b) 191) and have important implications for international investors with exposures in Taiwan's stock market.     

股权结构影响下的上市公司融资倾向研究

本文选取深沪两市的900家上市公司为样本,以2001-2004年的财务及相关数据为基础,从我国上市公司特殊的股权结构出发,运用一般描述性统计分析、偏相关分析、独立样本T检验等方法,分析我国上市公司股权结构与融资倾向之间的关系,以探究在相同市场环境中,不同的股权结构安排是否会导致其融资倾向的差异性。研究结果表明,股权结构对上市公司融资倾向具有显著的影响,不同股权结构安排下的公司有不同的融资倾向,特殊的股权结构是造成我国上市公司融资结构不合理的主要因素。     

Rejected stock exchange applicants

We examine listing applications by firms to the London Stock Exchange between 1891 and 1911. The exchange rejected 82 (13.1%) of the 628 applicants to its main board. Accepted applicants were twice as likely to pay dividends (and to pay twice as much) and had longer firm lives than rejected applicants. Rejected applicants were more likely to file for liquidation than successful applicants. These results remain even after we control for the primary benefits of the listing itself: liquidity and future capital inflows. In this era, the London Stock Exchange could screen applicants for listing.
