靶场发射初始段雷达精密跟踪技术

航天战略地靶发射初始段测量除了产生必要的跟踪监视信息以外，更重要的任务是获取安控信息源，文章从靶场的雷达环境出发，说明常规跟踪雷达不能实现对复杂背景下的载体（星箭，导弹等）跟踪，经分析研究，提出了ＭＴＴ（Ｍｏｖｉｎｇ－Ｔａｒｇｅｔ－Ｔｒａｃｋｉｎｇ）技术的概念，实验室计算机仿真和工程样机在靶场跟踪的数据分析，说明ＭＴＴ雷达是实现初始段精密跟踪测量的一种有效手段。     

Benzodiazepines and falling injuries in the elderly

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the use of benzodiazepines (BD) in relation to the risk of falling injuries in an elderly population (65 yrs. or older)

Design: An unmatched case-control study. Setting: The town of Pori, Finland

Participants: 380 subjects aged 65 years or over, who presented for medical treatment due to a fall during the 12 months from Sept. 1987 to Aug. 1988, and 342 controls, 65 years or older, selected from the population register. The control subjects were examined according to a schedule that corresponded in time (time of day, day of the week and month) to the time-distribution of falls in an earlier study

Outcome measure: All falls leading to medical treatment. BD use was determined from the serum, and the type of BD was determined by interviews and controlled from patient records

Results: We found a tendency toward a dose-response relationship between the serum BD concentration and the occurrence of falling injury. The risk of faling injury related to short-acting BDs was increased 5-fold and that for other BDs 2-fold compared to the risk among those without any BD in the serum. Conclusion: The results indicate that BD use is associated with falls in the elderly, and that short-acting BDs seem to be associated with falls more often. The results suggest caution in the use of BDs in the elderly.

Belbin's Team Role Model: Development,Validity and Applications for Team Building*

abstract This paper brings together research into and using the team role model developed by Belbin (1981, 1993a ) in an attempt to provide an exhaustive assessment of construct validity in light of the conflicting evidence so far produced. Role theory is used to contextualize the origins of the model. The psychometric properties of the Team Role Self‐Perception Inventory used to assess a person's likely behaviour in a team are examined along with 43 empirical studies that have tested theoretical associations between team roles and other cognitive or behavioural traits. While the evidence is mixed, we conclude that, on balance, the model and its accompanying Inventory have adequate convergent validity. However, strong associations between some team roles are observed, indicating weak discriminant validity among some scales in the Inventory. Through its coverage of important areas of teamworking, the paper contributes to the practitioner and research communities by providing fresh insights into aspects of teamworking and by suggesting new research agendas.     

Urban Industrial Land Redevelopment and Contamination Risk

This study examines the role of contamination risk on urban industrial redevelopment in the City of Chicago. The theoretical framework is the myopic optimal redevelopment rule which states that the redevelopment of an urban parcel will occur when the parcel's value through conversion to a new use, net of construction costs, exceeds the value of the same parcel continuing in its current use. Contamination liability is modeled as a land demolition cost that is capitalized into bid value. Assuming that the magnitude of this land demolition cost is a function of the a priori probability of contamination, the effects of contamination risk on land value and on the probability of redevelopment are estimated.     

IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO PRIVATISE ROYAL MAIL

In classical myth Cerberus was the three-headed dog that guarded the entrance to hell. The Royal Mail Group ('RMG'), as the holding company is currently called, is a three-headed dog that should be put down. This paper examines the problems underlying RMG's three businesses - letters, parcels and counters - and suggests that if Cerberus were privatised as three ordinary dogs and the holding company abolished, they would have much better prospects of profitable survival.
