县域层次统筹城乡发展一般路径的探讨--以安徽宁国为例

在县域的空间层次如何统筹城乡发展，不同的县(市)区虽然有不同的方式与内容，但总是存在着具有共性特征的一般路径规律。该文通过对中部地区安徽省宁国市的实证分析，总结出在县域空间层次统筹城乡发展的一般路径，是“两个创新”带动“三个缩小”，即通过民间与地方政府的制度创新，缩小城乡之间的空间差、居民收入差和观念差，逐步形成城乡相融的一元化的县域经济社会新形态。

《雷雨》的通行版删去了初版中的《序幕》和《尾声》,而《序幕》和《尾声》却创造了诗般纯美的悲剧氛围,起到了强化悲剧色彩的作用,并且通过把剧情推向“辽远”,从而造成一种欣赏的距离,并不象某些评论家所言它体现了宿命论思想;通行版还删改了初版中的某些细节,虽强调了周家与鲁家的阶级对立,增强了作品的斗争性,却减弱了人物形象的丰富性、复杂性、真实性。

Marketing Orders, Grading Errors, and Price Discrimination

Some marketing orders allow an agricultural industry to regulate the flow of product to market. We examine a more common, but less controversial, aspect of marketing orders, the setting and enforcement of grades, and show that purposefully introducing error into the grading process reduces farmers' incentives to produce high-quality product, thus partially sustaining the adverse selection problem that would exist in the absence of grades. Because demand for high-quality product is generally inelastic relative to demand for low-quality product, grading error can increase industry profit. In principle, an industry can achieve through grading error the same allocation of product between high- and low-quality outlets as attainable through direct volume regulation.

Production Contracts and Productivity in the U.S. Hog Sector

This article measures the impact of contracting on partial and total factor productivity and the production technology of U.S. hog operations. A sample selection model accounts for the fact that unobservable variables may be correlated with both the operators' decision to contract and farm productivity. Results indicate that the use of production contracts is associated with a substantial increase in factor productivity, and represents a technological improvement over independent production. Results also identify determinants of farmers' decisions to contract and other factors influencing farm productivity.     

Nonparametric Bayes inference for concave distribution functions

Bayesian inference for concave distribution functions is investigated. This is made by transforming a mixture of Dirichlet processes on the space of distribution functions to the space of concave distribution functions. We give a method for sampling from the posterior distribution using a Pólya urn scheme in combination with a Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithm. The methods are extended to estimation of concave distribution functions for incompletely observed data.
