Satisfaction plays an important role in creating loyalty to a tourism destination. However, ensuring consistent satisfactory trip experiences for tourists and increasing their revisit intention remain challenging for many international tourism destinations, including Myanmar. We conducted a survey with 465 international tourists visiting Myanmar. Results indicate that need gratification and flow can increase tourist satisfaction. The perceived risks of tourism destination can decrease tourist satisfaction. Satisfaction is an important factor to mediate the influence of need gratification, flow, and perceived risks. A tourist’s intention to revisit Myanmar can be largely improved by attending to these independent and mediating factors. 相似文献

ABSTRACT Most U.S. states earn significant amount of revenues from lottery sales. However, they are also criticized for promoting the lotteries because they have been seen as taking advantage of poor populations. The purpose of this study is to identify the impact of various economic factors on lottery sales by using zip-code level sales within the state of Maine. The results show that an increase of 1% in unemployment rate results in a 0.38% increase in draw lottery sales, but it has no significant impact on instant lottery sales. This highlights the importance of differentiating between two major types of lotteries. 相似文献

AbstractThis study investigated how the rapid transformation of Dubai has affected the forms and shape of Emiratis’ consumption. Analysis of participant observations, projective techniques and existential phenomenological interviews with Emirati women living in Dubai uncovered ambivalence about economic power and loss of traditions and strategies for going global including embracing local capital, brand selection and spatiotemporal restrictions. Watching television shows in quick succession on the Netflix and Amazon Prime platforms is on the rise. Although widespread, this binge watching behavior has received limited attention from marketing academics. The current study conceptualizes binge watching needs and examines their effect on the gratifications obtained from binge watching. We apply the lens of uses and gratifications (U&G) theory for model development and test the model empirically, using data from two cities in India. We add a new category of needs, namely technology-related needs, to the existing psycho-sociological-related needs (named as content-related needs in this paper) present in plain-old-television studies (POTS). We find that a technology-related need—that is, modal experience (the presence of media content in various formats leading to superior experience)—significantly impacts gratification from binge watching. We also find a strong moderating effect of self-control, used in previous studies of binge-eating and binge-shopping, in which the effect of modal experience, navigability and parasocial interaction need gratification is heightened for consumers who have low levels of self-control. We build on these findings to suggest implications for marketers, advertisers, and consumer-advocacy groups. 相似文献

Instant Messaging (IM) has become one of the most popular applications for many Internet users. While prior research has primarily
focused on IM initial adoption, continued usage (or continuance) has not drawn much attention. This research integrates media
choice theories with motivation theory to explain IM continuance. It tests the proposed model using data collected from a
sample of 207 Chinese university students via an online survey. Results indicate that perceived enjoyment, perceived critical
mass are key to IM continuance intention. Perceived social presence and perceived critical mass are positively associated
with perceived enjoyment. We also find that perceived social presence, perceived media richness and perceived enjoyment have
