蒲鲁东经济哲学思想的中心视阈是对所有权和古典政治经济学的批判。他以所有权为批判对象,切中了批判资本主义的关键性维度,在社会主义思想史上具有重要的意义;将哲学与经济学相结合研究社会问题的思路,包含着政治经济学发展与变革的因素与可能。但是,蒲鲁东经济哲学思想的哲学基础仍然是唯心主义历史观,他的"系列辩证法"是对黑格尔辩证法的庸俗化。研究蒲鲁东的经济哲学思想,对于把握马克思的思想发展和变革具有重要意义。     

罗尔斯"正义国家"理论初探

虽然罗尔斯在其正义理论中很少使用"国家"这个词,但是他实际上提出了一种"正义国家"观.他通过"正义国家"理论的构建,着重探讨了一个组织良好的社会即"正义国家"是否可能的问题,即人类社会应该在怎样的正义原则规范下才算是一个组织良好的"正义国家".作为理性的个人为了获得社会合作所产生的较大利益而进入一个合作体系进行社会交往时,选择罗尔斯的正义原则,就是要逐步地选择稳定性和正义性更大的规范社会秩序的社会规则.     

"一分为三"十七年之争

在哲学上关于"一分为三"的命题已经争论了十七年,作者认为"一分为三"具有普遍性并论证其产生的根源及其理论与实践意义.虽然,这场争论中各方各执一辞,但作者希望能逐步确立这一命题,建构立体化的马克思主义哲学原理.     

Economics,Ethics and Thanatology: Lessons from the Ancients

The normative presuppositions motivating rational choice decision-making based on optimizing objectives amount to a thin account of ethical economic behavior. Ancient thought offers insights that can provide a firmer basis both for personal, individual choice as well as for public policy. After a brief review of Epicurean and Stoic ethical principles, a comparison is made of modern economic and Hellenistic conceptions of rationality and rational behavior. These competing conceptions are then applied to an examination of a contemporary public policy problem, namely health care, particularly as this applies to “end-of-life” issues. The argument concludes that decision-making based on a eudaimonic conception of the good has the potential to provide us with a more efficient health care system as well as one that more satisfactorily addresses the needs of the chronically ill and dying patients who account for a highly disproportionate share of health care expenditures.     

Towards a Design Science of Ethical Decision Support

Ethical decision making involves complex emotional, cognitive, social, and philosophical challenges. Even if someone wants to be ethical, he or she may not have clearly articulated what that means, or know how to go about making a decision consistent with his or her values. Information technology may be able to help. A decision support system could offer individuals and groups some guidance, assisting them in making a decision that reflects their underlying values. The first step towards a design science of ethical decision support is to develop a theoretical base on which first-generation systems can be built. This paper brings together work in cognitive, social and moral psychology, information systems, and philosophy relevant to ethical decision making. Attributes of a system that would support ethical decision making are described.

On seeking first to understand

There are fundamental differences between seeking-to-solve and seeking-to-understand. We are strongly biased toward seeking-to-solve on a number of dimensions. As a result, we are increasingly at risk in a world that is becoming increasingly complex and fast paced. We therefore need to understand these biases so that we can defend ourselves -- we need to develop (moral) concepts and methods of inquiry that transcend our dominant and pervasive analytical presuppositions.

Developing a Learning Community Approach to Business Ethics Education

In this paper we discuss a project, still in progress, that moves away from a traditional lecture based educational pedagogy. We present a team taught approach to ethics teaching that embraces a progressive philosophy of education and is focused on the development of a discussion based learning community. We describe our primary pedagogical tools of case discussion and the development of student expert role assignments as a locus, and how they relate to the learning community, course content and course objectives. Finally, we provide our preliminary review of outcomes and emerging issues.
