Attitudinal studies of wilderness visitors have indicated that people seek opportunities to limit interaction with other visitors so as to achieve privacy and solitude. This conventional interpretation of wilderness recreation was evaluated by comparing measures of visitor attitudes and social behavior in the backcountry of Yosemite National Park. Results show no association between visitor attitudes toward crowding and observed social interaction or behavior to avoid such social interaction. These findings suggest that subjective responses of visitors measured by questionnaires and interviews are often of debatable validity. Greater validity can be achieved by avoiding reliance on common‐sense interpretations in theory formulation and by employing multiple measurement techniques.  相似文献

Environmental degradation and dwindling natural areas can negatively impact a destination's image. Nonprofit land trusts have become important organizations in the US conservation movement and elsewhere. Their method of negotiating with landowners to protect land, yet leave the land in private ownership and on the tax rolls, is often popular with the public and local governments. This study explains how land trusts operate. It measured the collaboration potential between land trusts and tourism entities in the US, from the land trust representatives’ point of view, by embedding six propositions considered necessary for collaboration into the theory of planned behavior. An email survey of land trusts in the US yielded 279 usable replies. Approximately 71% of the representatives’ intention to collaborate was accounted for, with opinions of peers (subjective norm) providing the most influence; 64% of the representatives’ attitude toward collaboration was identified. Land trusts were found to be able and willing to provide an efficient, economical method of protecting the landscape, while working with tourism entities that could provide financial support, promotion and increased awareness of the importance of natural areas to both local population and tourists.  相似文献

技术创新是企业保持持续竞争力的关键因素。产业集群内的中小企业与孤立于集群外的中小企业相比,由于集群效应获得提高自身创新能力和拓宽创新途径的机会,但仍处于技术创新滞后的状况。基于此,本文分析了集群内中小企业技术创新的障碍,并通过政府在促进集群内中小企业技术创新活动中行为定位的探讨,提出了政府应从财税激励、政府采购、共享机制、融资支持、中介服务机构等方面对中小企业技术创新活动进行有效支持。  相似文献

文章在代理理论的框架下,实证检验了上市公司大股东在增发或配股(SEO)中的认购行为选择对恶性增资的影响。研究结果发现:无论大股东是否参加SEO认购,上市公司都存在恶性增资倾向。但是,与大股东全部参加认购相比,大股东全部和部分放弃认购均加重了上市公司恶性增资倾向。其中,大股东全部放弃认购的恶性增资倾向最大,部分放弃认购次之。上述发现有助于理解大股东的认购行为选择,并为监督和规范上市公司的投融资行为提供了实证支持。  相似文献

农户的种植行为直接影响种植结构的合理性,农业现代化的推进不再单纯依靠经济量的投入,更需要结合农户的种植行为以实现种植结构的优化。通过随机抽样的方式,对贵州省农户的种植结构调整行为进行了问卷调查,在对农户理论分析的基础上,采用二元logistic模型对影响农户种植结构调整行为的因素进行了实证分析。结果表明,年龄大小、教育年限、其他技能、务农劳力、农业收入、市场价格、标准与否在5%的水平上显著,惠农政策在1%的水平上显著,跟随偏好在10%的水平上显著。结合社会化小农的特征,得出以下结论:(1)年龄大小、务农劳力的多少以及农业收入是否为家庭主要收入对种植结构调整影响显著。(2)文化程度高的农户在种植初期会选择收益较高的农作物。(3)具有其他技能的农户选择进行种植结构调整的概率大。(4)市场价格对农户的种植选择有较大影响。(5)惠农政策对农户种植结构调整的引导作用显著。(6)标准化程度对农户的种植结构有较大的规制作用。(7)农户的种植行为一定程度上受到周围农户的影响。  相似文献

Abstract

There is a dilemma for HR executives concerning social media policies: Should HR managers allow employees to use social media while at work? The question has no easy answer because there are conflicting views on the matter. However, the conflicting views can be resolved if we focus on the individuals with whom an employee interacts through social media. Building on data on the blogging activity of 269 employees working for a Canadian health-care provider, the paper reveals a new problem: The extent to which employees engage in personal blogging with outsiders – individuals who do not work for the organization – is negatively related to intrinsic work motivation and to proactive behavior. After having introduced the problem, the paper shows a solution. If employees engage in blogging with coworkers, the negative effects turn positive: Blogging with coworkers positively affects intrinsic work motivation and proactive behavior. Finally, the paper offers a recommendation for HR managers to leverage the solution. Through social job design and increasing formal interaction requirements, HR executives can reinforce the association between social media use and blogging with coworkers. Overall, the paper helps HR executives to clarify the outcomes of social media, find a problem, suggest a solution, and recommend how to achieve it.  相似文献

Music is known to affect patrons in a service environment, and its types and applications have been widely studied. However, little research has yet addressed the possibility for patrons to create their background music (BGM) in collaboration with service providers. Also, the coffee shop has often been neglected as a research area for BGM application. We, thus, explore the potential for co-creation of background music (BGM) in coffee shop management. Based on the notion of congruity effect, which holds that congruent BGM leads to approach behavior, our research unveils that patrons experience a positive mood from BGM in harmony with a coffee shop environment and in turn show approach behavior represented by spending more money and time. More importantly, our research further explores the effect of BGM co-creation in boosting approach behavior (via enhanced perceived mood). The findings of this research suggest that coffee shop owners would benefit from adopting this co-creation strategy in managing their coffee shops.  相似文献
