Growth and Unemployment: Towards a Theoretical Integration   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
We observe in the literature of the past decade some innovative contributions identified a relation between economic growth and long run unemployment. This set of contributions is composed of very few elements, all characterized by a high degree of heterogeneity about their features and about their final results.
In the first part of the survey we provide a classification of these early contributions. In the second part we explore some alternative formulations of the problem and we present a wider set of models displaying interesting features, able to promote further studies about the persistence of unemployment in a growing economy.  相似文献

Information and internet-based technologies have fostered new supply chain initiatives in food retailing but little research has evaluated performance and efficiency impacts. A distance function based on three key performance measures for food retailers is used to evaluate store performance and efficiency. The effects of store format, membership in a chain, unionization, and the adoption of a variety of information technologies. We analyze the intranet communication behavior of members of a company that was deeply committed to the principles of non-hierarchical communication structures and of post-bureaucratic organization. We observe a split between the symbolic activities for creating a non-hierarchical network organization and the actual intranet communication behavior of the organization members. In their daily communication on the intranet, they persistently reproduced hierarchical structures and official channels—elements typically associated with bureaucratic organizations. Further, we find many signals in the content of the intranet messages, reflecting a social hierarchy that has evolved within the organization. Thus, despite rhetoric to the contrary, our findings regarding this communication behavior show that, to all intents and purposes, this particular organization displayed characteristics similar to those of a traditional bureaucratic organization.  相似文献

在搜索引擎中为了减小索引文件的大小、加快检索的速度和提高检索的精确度,必须对网页中的文本内容去噪并有效地抽取网页中的主题信息.根据对大量网页的特征分析,本文提出了一种较为简单和实用的网页主题信息抽取方法,该方法利用主题信息在网页中分布相对集中和文本密度较高的特征,利用BP人工神经网络进行自动识别,实验结果表明,该方法对于信息发布类网站平均准确率较高,具有一定的实用性.  相似文献

中小企业在我国经济建设中发挥着重要的作用,但由于中小企业与银行之间存在信息不对称而引发的逆向选择和道德风险,从而导致了其融资困难。本文认为,作为资金需求方的中小企业,应提高其融资管理水平,降低“道德风险”所产生的融资成本。而作为资金供给方的政府和金融机构,应研究制定中小企业融资制度,降低融资市场的“逆向选择”。  相似文献

This paper presents evidence that graduates from rural areas, classified as non‐urban Hukou, choose to invest in higher levels of job‐search effort (as measured by number of different search methods used and the number of employers contacted) and also set a lower reservation wage, reflected in acceptance of a lower starting salary, than do comparable graduates of urban Hukou, in China. The former also appear to have higher probabilities of being employed, in terms of both their higher probabilities of receiving offers and, more importantly, their higher probabilities of acceptance. The evidence thus suggests that graduates with non‐urban Hukou face more intense pressure to gain employment in the period leading up to graduation, than do their urban counterparts. More generally, the evidence suggests that effort invested in job search is rewarded in the graduate labor market in China.  相似文献

Companies are increasingly encouraging employees to use Facebook and other social media to interact with coworkers in order to empower collaboration and knowledge sharing. Yet, there is a hidden problem that has been neglected by managers. The more employees interact with coworkers through social media to facilitate their work in the organization, the more likely they are to learn about and become interested in other companies via social media, form new work connections outside the organization, and engage in job search behaviors. The use of social media to facilitate work and benefit organizations could paradoxically risk fostering withdrawal intentions and turnover, which damage organizations. This article provides evidence of this paradox from an empirical study. After having identified the problem, the article proposes both the solutions to avoid and the solutions to adopt, illustrating best practices from successful companies, comparing their benefits and costs, and indicating the situations in which each solution is best implemented. To conclude, I offer 10 recommendations to turn the problem into an opportunity and use social media as an innovative recruitment tool.  相似文献
