Has the CSR engagement of electrical companies had an effect on their performance? A closer look at the environment

Even though electrical companies attain a top ranking in the publication of CSR reports, they are often accused of 'green‐washing' due to their bad environmental reputation. The current economic crisis is testing their real CSR commitment more than ever, especially when this goes beyond its economic consequences. Based on a worldwide sample of electrical companies, we are going to study why companies are being socially responsible. We wish to know if it is due to the impact on the firms' performance or whether there are other motives (legitimation, improving their reputation) that lead companies to carry out these practices. We will also consider if it changes across the kind of CSR action considered. The results show that there is an economic justification beyond the socially responsible behaviour of the electrical companies. Additionally, most kinds of CSR action (community, diversity, corporate governance, product responsibility) are also carried out looking for economic rewards. However, the CSR actions oriented to the environment are mainly motivated by their need to improve their image and reverse their negative impact. The Internet of Things: Are you ready for what’s coming?

Are you ready for what’s coming? As senior managers look to connect products, processes, and services to the growing field of the Internet of Things (IoT), this is an important preliminary question. Leveraging the IoT for firm benefit involves revisiting certain ideas that may have gone unquestioned for a long time. In this article, we begin by reviewing the complexity of the IoT, the complexities of an increasingly interconnected environment, and the increasing need to develop partnerships in order to create innovative solutions. We then offer practical insights from a case in which three actors with reciprocal specialties cooperated to create an IoT solution in the form of a connected appliance. While a shared spirit of optimism prevailed throughout the endeavor, reaching the finish line meant jumping a few hurdles along the way. Finally, we describe a number of fundamental issues related to business models, partnership strategy, data ownership, and technology diffusion that every enterprise should address before diving headfirst into the Internet of Things.     

浅谈电气节能在建筑工程中的运用

本文通过介绍电气节能设计应遵循的原则,着重阐述了建筑电气节能设计中线路损耗、变压器的选择、照明节能、电动机节能、空调系统节能、给排水节能等多个方面的节能技术措施,以及在建筑工程中的应用。     

综合防治水法在刘店矿首采工作面的应用

根据刘店矿10煤层首采工作面底板岩层为高阻电性层的特点,采用电测深法进行探测,探测结果显示存在4个视电阻率低阻异常条带区,把其中幅值和范围相对较大、富水性和突水危险性较强的异常区作为重点防治水区。根据电测和钻探探查结论对1044工作面底板进行防治水工作,总结提出了"物探先行、疏水降压与底板加固相结合"的综合防治水途径。     

家电下乡财政补贴分配机制研究

家电下乡财政补贴是国家引导消费、扩大内需的一项惠民政策。财政补贴是在农民和供应者之间进行的分配,在短期内双方获得的财政补贴与供给曲线的斜率成反比,并且是通过家电的涨价得以实现;中长期内则是由财政补贴家电下乡扩大内需和创造供给两方面的作用的博弈,通过供求曲线的移动实现。通过对财政补贴去向及其影响因素的分析,揭示农民受益、扩大内需、下乡效果三者之间的关系。     

射频功率放大器告警功能模拟检测方案

射频功放模块是基站系统中的核心部件,出厂前对射频功放模块的功能进行检测意义 重大。设计了一块告警功能测试板,通过观察与射频功放模块相连的测试板上的LED灯,判 断射频功率放大器功能是否正常。实践证明,该方法能模仿射频功率放大器在实际基站系统 中 的工作行为,不仅有效地提高了射频功率放大器的良品率,而且适用于商业化大规模批量生 产。
