Cellular phone etiquette among college students

There has been tremendous growth in the cellular telephone industry in recent years. This evolving technology has given rise to concerns over the social rules of etiquette governing cellphone usage behaviour. The present study was undertaken to better understand the perceptions of cellphone usage propriety among one of the most important target markets for cellphone products – young adults attending college. Data were collected from a total of 383 cellphone consumers residing in geographically diverse regions of the United States. Overall, the results indicated a high degree of agreement among respondents as to appropriate and inappropriate situations for cellphone usage. Respondents considered inappropriate situations for cellphone usage to include during worship/church, during class, in a library and in a movie theatre during a movie. Respondents considered it to be appropriate to use cellphones while on public transportation, in a supermarket, and to use a hands‐free set while driving. Specific differences were found as a function of geographic regions, gender and employment status.

Perspective on the 21st century : Practical lessons from my management experience

The dramatic changes in the industrial structure since World War II owe much to technological advances that have enabled corporations to pursue their endeavors on unprecedented scale, as in mass production and mass retailing. 1 characterized my management emphasis as ‘C&C’ which stands for the integration of computers and communications. C&C is a technological frontier that has spawned a continuing stream of new products and advanced concepts. C&C, however, is a very different kind of technological advance. As C&C takes hold in society and as information networks mature, information will become the central element in new amalgams with the other traditional corporate resources: people, money, and property.

电力线载波通信是用电力线路作为通信媒介进行数据传输。介绍了在低压配电线上用电力线载波专用芯片ST7536实现数据的传输,采用电力线载波形式,设计出了一个家电网络控制系统,对家电网络进行远程集中控制,可以对多路家用电器的运行情况进行实时监测和控制,并分析了电力线通信的通道特性及其干扰,结合电力通信的特点提出了解决办法。     

EPC 总承包项目采购管理中信息沟通问题研究

总承包商做好采购管理的关键在于，如何更好地进行采购中信息沟通。分析了EPC总承包项目中总承包商与业主、供应商之间信息沟通，以及采购与设计、施工和试运行各阶段之问信息沟通。在此基础上提出了EPC总承包项目中提高采购信息沟通的措施。     

基于System View的256QAM信号调制与解调的仿真实现

在介绍正交振幅调制(QAM)信号的调制、解调原理的基础上,以相对比较复杂的256QAM为例,对QAM信号的频带利用率和误码率性能进行了分析,给出了用动态系统仿真和分析软件SystemView进行系统仿真的具体设置,并分析了仿真结果。     

Tourism Policy Making:: The Policymakers’ Perspectives

This research explores tourism policy making, from the perspectives of policy makers using grounded theory. It focuses on Leeds, a city in the North of England, which is characterized by its turbulent environment. The paper identifies themes around policy making, including low status, lack of clarity, uncertainty, lack of consensus and congruence and complexity. Its findings indicate policy making is essentially a social process, involving communication and negotiation between people in the context of wider change. It suggests a social conceptualization, and further research to investigate the communications involved in producing policy rather than the focus on the tangible outputs of the process such as a plan or a physical development.

发展传播理论是20世纪下半叶以来围绕传播与社会发展问题兴起的理论范式。由于全球大众传播领域的迅猛发展以及全球政治经济结构的变化,发展传播理论经历了自身理论范式的转换,并面对全球化的新发展视野。重新审视20世纪50年代以来发展传播学视野中大众媒介的角色与功能,在构建和谐社会、全面建设小康社会的国内环境以及全球化的语境中具有重要意义。     

基子知识视角下的企业家精神

本文通过封国内外有关知识资本、企业家和企业家精神的文献研究和总结，在知识视角下封企业家理论进行简要回顾，得出企业家精神的实质是创新精神，更是识别创新机会、把握创新机会的过程的结论。使用信号传递模型，分离条件假设以及斯宾赛一莫裹斯条件建立模型，说明企业家的沟通成本对企业创新的影响。本文为企业家精神的研究提供一个新的视角或认识工具。

在当前我国股市信息的传播过程中,不良信息过剩、优质信息匮乏,两级传播特征明显,意见领袖发挥作用,信息特权者与信息弱势群体存在信息落差。应建立有效的股市信息传播制约机制,以完善的制度与有力的监督保障股市信息的良性传播。
