As the retail industry is growing larger and more diversified, retailers' decisions about product selection, shelf-space-allocation, and replenishment become more important and challenging. This paper is to present a model for shelf-space allocation with product selection and replenishment decisions to maximize the retailer's profit. The model is based on a two-dimensional display space in which all shelves and products have widths and heights and includes factors that influence demand for each product, such as space and cross-space elasticities and positioning effects. The integrated model presented is mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP) because the demand function is non-convex. This research proposes two heuristic algorithms (tabu search and genetic) to solve the MINLP problem. The results show the effectiveness and efficiency of these algorithms by comparing the outputs to the MINLP optimal solution for small data sets and comparing the algorithm performances for large data sets. The solution methodologies expect to support a simultaneous decision-making process for retailers to maximize their revenue. 相似文献

By re-examining the link between fairness and commitment in supply chain relationships, this study elaborates on the existing theory that views fairness only as an antecedent. It proposes that commitment can also precede perceived fairness, thus redefining the link between the concepts as bidirectional in buyer–supplier relationships. The study examines both the buyer and supplier perspectives. Based on interviews at 24 technology industry firms in Finland, this empirical study demonstrates that buyer commitment has a positive impact on how suppliers perceive distributive fairness in the relationship. In turn, this effect is reciprocated by the suppliers through a commitment in the form of relationship-specific investments and continuous improvements that are perceived as fair by the buyer. This paper considers a simple equilibrium model of an imperfectly competitive two-sided matching market. Firms and workers may have heterogeneous preferences over matches on the other side, and the model allows for both uniform and personalized wages or contracts. To make the model tractable, I use the Azevedo and Leshno (2013) framework, in which a finite number of firms is matched to a continuum of workers.In equilibrium, even if wages are exogenous and fixed, firms have incentives to strategically reduce their capacity, to increase the quality of their worker pool. The intensity of incentives to reduce capacity is given by a simple formula, analogous to the classic Cournot model, but depends on different moments of the distribution of preferences. I compare markets with uniform and personalized wages. For fixed quantities, markets with personalized wages always yield higher efficiency than markets with uniform wages, but may be less efficient if firms reduce capacity to avoid bidding too much for star workers. 相似文献

基于2012~2015年深沪两市A股上市公司样本数据,对经营绩效反馈和企业广告投入之间的关系进行了理论分析和实证检验,并进一步考察了环境不确定性的调节作用。研究结果表明:(1)当企业未实现资本市场经营预期时,随着实际绩效低于经营预期程度的增大,企业广告投入将减少;(2)当企业实现资本市场经营预期时,随着实际绩效高于经营预期程度的增大,企业广告投入将增加;(3)当企业未实现资本市场经营预期时,与低不确定性环境相比,高不确定性环境中企业经营绩效负反馈对广告投入的负向影响将增强;(4)当企业实现资本市场经营预期时,与低不确定性环境相比,高不确定性环境中企经营绩效正反馈对企业广告投入的正向影响将增强。 相似文献
