Geometric analysis of iterated cross-volatilities of asset prices is adopted to assess the stability of the (risk-free) measure under infinitesimal perturbations. Perturbations of asset prices evolve through time according to an ordinary linear differential equation (hedged transfer). The decay (feedback) rate is explicitly computed through a Fourier series method implemented on high frequency time series.  相似文献

We derive analytic series representations for European option prices in polynomial stochastic volatility models. This includes the Jacobi, Heston, Stein–Stein, and Hull–White models, for which we provide numerical case studies. We find that our polynomial option price series expansion performs as efficiently and accurately as the Fourier‐transform‐based method in the nested affine cases. We also derive and numerically validate series representations for option Greeks. We depict an extension of our approach to exotic options whose payoffs depend on a finite number of prices.  相似文献

We introduce a new class of numerical schemes for discretizing processes driven by Brownian motions. These allow the rapid computation of sensitivities of discontinuous integrals using pathwise methods even when the underlying densities postdiscretization are singular. The two new methods presented in this paper allow Greeks for financial products with trigger features to be computed in the LIBOR market model with similar speed to that obtained by using the adjoint method for continuous pay‐offs. The methods are generic with the main constraint being that the discontinuities at each step must be determined by a one‐dimensional function: the proxy constraint. They are also generic with the sole interaction between the integrand and the scheme being the specification of this constraint.  相似文献

Barbara Bergmann has advocated direct observation of market behavior by economists. There is a history of such activity in the area of labor market but that experimental work has mainly been conducted by noneconomists. We have followed the lead of these researchers and conducted audits of employment hiring behavior, testing for discrimination on the basis of gender and sex. The technique involves sending matched pairs of job applications. Discrimination was found against female, Greek, and Vietnamese applicants. The paper recommends improvements in experimental design for future audits.  相似文献

Error Calculus and Path Sensitivity in Financial Models   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
In the framework of risk management, for the study of the sensitivity of pricing and hedging in stochastic financial models to changes of parameters and to perturbations of the stock prices, we propose an error calculus that is an extension of the Malliavin calculus based on Dirichlet forms. Although useful also in physics, this error calculus is well adapted to stochastic analysis and seems to be the best practicable in finance. This tool is explained here intuitively and with some simple examples.  相似文献

Greeks are the price sensitivities of financial derivatives and are essential for pricing, speculation, risk management, and model calibration. Although the pathwise method has been popular for calculating them, its applicability is problematic when the integrand is discontinuous. To tackle this problem, this paper defines and derives the parameter derivative of a discontinuous integrand of certain functional forms with respect to the parameter of interest. The parameter derivative is such that its integration equals the differentiation of the integration of the aforesaid discontinuous integrand with respect to that parameter. As a result, unbiased Greek formulas for a very broad class of payoff functions and models can be systematically derived. This new method is applied to the Greeks of (1) Asian options under two popular Lévy processes, i.e. Merton's jump-diffusion model and the variance-gamma process, and (2) collateralized debt obligations under the Gaussian copula model. Our Greeks outperform the finite-difference and likelihood ratio methods in terms of accuracy, variance, and computation time.  相似文献

The canonical valuation, proposed by Stutzer [1996. Journal of Finance 51, 1633–1652], is a nonparametric option pricing approach for valuing European-style contingent claims. This paper derives risk-neutral dynamic hedge formulae for European call and put options under canonical valuation that obey put–call parity. Further, the paper documents the error-metrics of the canonical hedge ratio and analyzes the effectiveness of discrete dynamic hedging in a stochastic volatility environment. The results suggest that the nonparametric hedge formula generates hedges that are substantially unbiased and is capable of producing hedging outcomes that are superior to those produced by Black and Scholes [1973. Journal of Political Economy 81, 637–654] delta hedging.  相似文献

We developed a new scheme for computing “Greeks” of derivatives by an asymptotic expansion approach. In particular, we derived analytical approximation formulae for Deltas and Vegas of plain vanilla and average European call options under general Markovian processes of underlying asset prices. Moreover, we introduced a new variance reduction method of Monte Carlo simulations based on the asymptotic expansion scheme. Finally, several numerical examples under CEV processes confirmed the validity of our method.  相似文献

Exchange options are one of the most popular exotic options, and have important implications for many common financial arrangements and for implied beta as a measure of systematic risk. In this study, we extend the existing literature on exchange options to allow for clustered jump contagion dynamics in each single asset, as well as across assets, using the Hawkes jump-diffusion model. We derive the analytical pricing formulae, the Greeks, and the optimal hedging strategy via Fourier transforms. Using an illustrative numerical analysis, we present the relationship between the exchange option price and clustered jump intensities and jump sizes in the underlying assets. We discuss the managerial insights on financial arrangements with exchange option characteristics. Furthermore, we discuss the implications of incorporating clustered jumps into the estimation of implied beta with exchange options, in which the applications can be insightful and useful in finance practice.  相似文献
