A Tentative Discussion on Japan's Energy Resource Development Strategy

Petroleum is a kind of strategic resource; so every country in the world attaches great importance on the reliable and safe supply of petroleum resource. Nowadays Japan is a large economic entity second only to US, and also an energy consuming country highly dependant on import.Japan focuses on the utilization of global energy resources. With the development of social economy and change of external environment, Japan has continuously perfected its energy strategy of structure diversification, import diversification and dependence on petroleum reserve. Meanwhile,Japan lays equal stress on energy development and conservation to ensure long-term safe supply of domestic energy resource. This paper also introduced some new trends deserving attention in the implementation of Japan' s energy resource, which also provided reference for the formulation and implementation of Chinese energy resource development strategy.
