Anti-poverty and Social Development: An Empirical Analysis of the Poverty Relief and Development in Rural Areas

To a large extent, the poverty in China lies in the poverty in the rural areas. This paper explores the reasons of rural poverty, the problems existing in rural poverty relief and the expectations of peasants of poverty relief policies by analyzing first-hand investigation data. It arrives at the conclusion that Chinese peasants are crying for poverty relief, and poverty relief should focus on development and satisfy the needs of the peasants.
