Strategic Significance of Developing large Transnational Petroleum Companies of China

Being the leading force of future development of the world petrochemical economy, Large transnational petroleum companies in petrochemical industry in the world have increasingly attracted extensive attention of all the countries in the world. At the threshold of the 21st century, as every large transnational petrochemical enterprise is working hard to consolidate and enhance its strategic status in global competition, China, a huge emerging market on the rise, turns out to be a hotly contested place for all these companies. So far there have been 20 out of the top 25 transnational petroleum enterprises invested in China, the projects and size of investment have been improved by leaps and bounds. We should not only see it's positive aspect of promoting the development of productivity but also realize it's negative influences. In line with the policy of opening to the outside world, our aim is to step out of the nation gate and obtain accession to overseas market and engage in transnational investment and transactions. Development of large-sized transnational petroleum enterprises of our country constitutes a main part of our opening policies and is of great strategic significance.
