Brief Introduction to the Standard System for Natural Gas Industry

Rapid development of natural gas industry has urged to separate it from the subsidiary of petroleum industry, and become a kind of new and rising industry of financial and technical dense. Consequently, it is essential to establish the standard system for natural gas. An integrated standard system for natural gas has basically been compiled by International Organization for Standardization/Natural Gas Technical Committee (ISO/TC193), and some similar word has gradually been developed in our country, too. The characteristics of standard system for our national natural gas industry and the differences from petroleum industry are generally introduced according to the structure, classification, and degrees of adoption of international standard, and also the individuals for general basis standard, product standard, test method standard and property measurement standard listed are analyzed and explained. Some proposals about development direction of standardization on natural gas industry in our country have been put forward in the paper.
