| Abstract: | The article puts emphasis on the study of the combination of SOFM arithmetic methodology and LBG algorithm in the application of image compression. This combined algorithm is suprior to SOFM or LBG when individually applied in the three aspects they are:improving compression ratio,shortening the time of codebook training and requiring larger proportion of signal-noise. |
