Studying the Factors in the Success of Virtual Team Working

This paper are presently engaged in planning research to explore the problems and prospects for the application of multimedia communications technologies in support of virtual group working within a range of commercial and public sector organisations, looking in particular at the relationships between outcomes, group tasks and organisational factors. By way of motivating this work, The most likely reason is that important social, psychological, technical and organisational factors are not taken into account when virtual group working is being contemplated. Past research suggests that these include： group cohesion, coordination, technologies, learning new methods for virtual teamworking, and organizational culture. It is using in future work to systematically explore the issues discussed here to help potential users make better informed decisions about the potential impacts of virtual teamworking.
