十七届二中全会号召我们要努力在促进社会和谐上见到新成效。构建社会主义和谐社会作为我国长期的战略目标，首要解决的当属观念问题，即必须从封建专制、盲目随意、狭隘偏颇、既得利益和传统交往的观念中解脱出来，树立民主法制、科学有序、正义公平、科学发展和现代交往的新观念。

Research on the Idea of Constructing a Socialist Harmonious Society

The Second Plenary Session of the Seventeenth Central Committee calls on us to make progress in constructing a Socialist harmonious Society. Constructing a Socialist harmonious society, as a long-term strategic target, as well as a matter of concept, is supposed to be understood properly. That is to say, we should not consider it as an old idea, but regard it as a new concept that reflects the democratic legal system, scientific order, justice and fairness, science development and modem communication.
