An Analysis of the Import-Substitution Development Mode of the Latin American Countries in the 20th Century

Import-substitution development mode played a significant role in the economic development of Latin American countries,facilitating their economic growth to some extent.Because of the excessive importance attached to the economic development during the process,the governments ignored the importance of agriculture,balance of payments,social cohesion,and this situation yielded some problems.Choosing the appropriate way of reforms,playing to the advantages,paying importance to the people’s interests,establishing the complete industrial system are very essential.
