| 摘 要： | 沈万三，原名沈富，字仲荣，排行老三，当时人们把财富分为“哥、畸、郎、官、秀”五等，“秀”是最有钱的上等人，故称他为“万三秀”，后来人们就称他沈万三。沈万三是湖州南浔人，出生在元代大德末年（公元1307年），后随父迁到苏州东坨。
