Passing over the threshold into 2012,the people of Jingdezhen in Jiangxi Province have begun to wonder if the sky has sprung a leak.It began to rain right before the Spring Festival holidays and a month later still shows no signs of stopping.It’s as if the endless rain is trying to wash away the recent troubles that have occurred here in Jingdezhen. Dissatisfied with parent company China Changan Automobile Group’s decision to secretly cancel their automobile production rights, over 2000 workers from Jingdezhen’s Changhe Auto went on strike before the Spring Festival holidays.It was also reported that some executives as the plant were assaulted by workers. In the 30 year history of China’s automobile industry,it is rare to see such intense conflicts arising from the restructuring of a company, especially one such as the state-owned t’hangan Automobile Group,a major player in the industry in recent years.
