Abstract:China is one of the countries with high biodiversity level in the world as well as rich water resources. In recently, more and more alien species are introduced in a large scale for plant restoration after the hydropower stations’s construction. It leads to the loss of biodiversity in a local area and is hard to restore.Tukahe River Basin, which is a cross-border river,is one of the areas with high-level biodiversity as a case in China. The construction of hydropower station has impacts on biodiversity, which is analyzed. The plant restoration measures(especially for the terrestrial rare plants) in construction of hydropower station are studied. The paper will provide meaningful references for the biodiversity protection in constructing hydropower station.
Keywords:hydropower station  reservoir inundation  rare plant  biodiversity  restoration and protection
