清华百年与现代中国

在＂现代化＂及＂现代性＂的世界大背景下,清华百年历史与现代中国的关系常常是互为表里、交相映衬记得我刚来清华执教之际,曾望文生义地把＂清华＂之名理解为＂清朝＂与＂中华＂的相加,后来我才知道＂清华＂之名出自晋朝诗人谢混的《游西池》诗中＂水木湛清华＂。我的这种＂解释错误＂,多少说明了我心目中的清华与清朝之间的特殊关系。
