Impact of stitch density on seam strength,seam elongation,and seam efficiency

The study investigated seam efficiency, seam strength and seam elongation of three stitch densities for a premium muslin. The tensile and seam strength were tested on INSTRON. Seam efficiency was calculated in percentages and t‐test and Analysis of Variance (anova ) were used to test the hypotheses. Findings provided scientific basis for conventional practices in the field. Possibilities for future extension of the work are discussed.
