With a case of Beijing,this paper points out that the problems of deteriorating neighborhood are not only involved in housing condition and city image,but also determined by comprehensive economic and social causes.It contends that in the process of reconstructing deteriorating neighborhood,the economic condition of low-income group and the self-governance spirit of community must be put together,and the reconstruction of deteriorating neighborhood must be considered with economic and social factors.
