As financial innovations emerge in an endless stream, our financial system is making the transition from separated operation to integrated operation. Thus, financial holding company has become the important organizational form in implementing integrated operation. Compared with ordinary holding company, financial holding company possesses its own operational advantages, which however may make financial supervision more difficult. In view of this, we should build up commercial-bank-dominated financial holding companies and establish efficient institutions to effect supervision over them. Since finance acts as the core of modem economy, maintaining financial security is of great importance for maintaining the state economic security.
