制度与经济发展关系研究中的计量与统计方法比较分析

随着计量分析方法被广泛用于研究制度与经济发展之间的关系,在国际发展经济学界涌现一大批对制度与经济发展相互关系展开经验研究的成果。鉴于作为整体的制度难以量化,人们在使用计量方法时常常容易陷入用非精确数据来解释精确化事实的尴尬境地。本文在对计量和统计两种方法进行对比分析的基础上,建议在探讨制度对经济发展相互关系时,采用包括因子分析法和主成份分析法在内的多元统计方法来弥补计量方法在度量制度整体结构方面的不足,从而使得这两种分析方法在对制度与经济发展关系的研究中获得相得益彰的效果。

An Comparison Analysis of Econometric Methods in the Study of the Relationship Between Institutions and Economic Development

Along with the extensive application of econometric analysis into the study of the relationship between institutions and economic development,there emerges in large numbers of literatures of the empirical researches into the inter-relationship between institutions and economic development.Due to the inability of quantifying the institution as a whole,it is easy for those researchers who use the econometric analysis to get into an embarrassed position of explaining the precise facts by using imprecise data.This article suggests,on the basis of comparing both the econometric and statistical approaches,to utilize statistical approach which includes both the factor analysis and the principal component analysis to make up the shortcomings of the econometric approach in the area of measuring the institutional structure as a whole when the relationship between institutions and development is discussed.By this way,it will help us in achieving the results of complementing each other of the two approaches.
