Using Differences of Expletives between Men and Women Analysis Based on the Corpus Research

In general, the statements on the using differences of expletives between men and women could be divided into the traditional view and the empirical view. The traditional view believes that men totally use more expletives than women do; however, the empirical researchers think that using differ- ences of expletives between men and women are not obvious. Based on some related corpus studies, this paper aims to explore what are the exact differences between men and women when they use exple- tives.
