Summary and Analysis of Guowenbeicheng

Hu Sijing is a very conservative figure in late Qing, his Guowenbeicheng is a very unique historical works. The written stories, anecdotes of the late Qing dynasty is an important reference mate- rials for the study of politics of the late Qing dynasty, and historiography thought embodies certain sig- nificance and value in the history of Chinese historiography and the history of thought. In addition, the book is in the aspects of historiography and historical literature which also has certain achievements. This paper makes analysis of the purpose, main contents, compiling features such as a system, in order to reveal the characteristic of history and historiography value, better make use of the precious historical documents.
