THE STRATEGIC THOUGHTS OF CONSTRUCTING AN ASIA OIL AND GAS CONTINENTAL BRIDGE(AOGCB)

This paper presents a plan of constructing an Asia Oil and Gas Continental Bridge(AOGCB), which jions the pipelines of the eastern China, Xinjiang Province, the middle Asia and the Middle East, therefore facilitating the direct transportation of the oil -gas resources in the Middle East and the Middle Asia to the oil -gas market of the east Asia. The middle Asia and the Middle East have the most bountiful oil -gas resources in the world and the Far East is becoming an important petroleum in import area. The shipping route between Middle East and the Far East is one of the most crucial channels. If the AOGCS was built, the petroleum conveyance would take less time and shorter distance, and thus promote the inland economic development and the international cooperation of oil-gas industry. The imagined AOGCB will be of great importance to the Chinese economic development in the 21st century, for China will ever increasingly rely on the world petroleum market. On the other hand, it would also stimulate oil and gas exploitation in western China.
