The Impact of Income Distribution on Consumption Demand

Effective demand is divided into two parts: investment demand and consumption demand. This paper mainly discusses the relationship between consumption demand and income distribution, which shows that income distribution is one of the important factors influencing consumption demand. Empirical research on the relationship between consumption demand and income distribution of city indicates that the expanding of citizen income gap and region income gap is the important reason for the declining of citizen's consumption trend and deficiency of consumption demand. The government should adopt active fiscal policies to adjust income distribution gap.
