| Abstract: | The paper aims to explore issues related to fisheries subsdies. To begin with,it reviews the estimates of the amount of,and trend in,fisherie s subsidies on the global scale. It then goes on to examine the effects of subsi dies on fishing effort and the total cost of fisheries,including fishing cost,institutional operating cost,and opportunity cost. A theoretically simplified m odel is employed for this research. |
