物流业发展对制造业效率的影响——基于地区和行业面板数据的分析

本文从地区和行业两个层面分析物流业发展对制造业效率的影响,并且引入政策环境、制造业企业规模、城市化水平3个调节变量,分析它们对物流业外溢效应的影响。运用中国地区层面省际2000~2008年以及制造业细分行业1998~2007年面板数据进行实证分析的结果表明:样本期间内,我国物流业的发展水平是制造业生产效率提高的一个重要瓶颈因素,而且这种影响存在地区差异性;物流业对劳动密集型行业发展的制约程度最大,对技术密集型行业的制约程度最小;在我国29个省市地区中,就整体而言,完善的政策环境对物流业外溢效应产生积极作用;在东部地区,政策环境的这种积极作用不显著;在中西部地区,政策环境制约了物流业外溢效应;制造业企业规模对物流业的外溢效应具有正向影响;在我国29个省市地区整体和东部地区中,城市化水平负向影响着物流业的外溢效应,在中西部地区,城市化水平的负向影响不显著。

An Empirical Research on the Influence of Logistics Development on the Efficiency of Manufacturing Industry

The authors analyze the influence of logistics on the efficiency of manufacturing industry from such two aspects of region and sector,introduce such three moderating variables as policy environment,the scale of manufacturing enterprises and the level of urbanization,and analyze the impact of these variables on the spillover effect of the logistics industry.The authors carry out the study with the help of regional panel data over 2000-2008 and sectors’ panel data over 1998-2007.The study shows:(1)During the sample period,the level of logistics development has been a significant bottleneck factor to the improvement of the efficiency of manufacturing industry,and this influences are different among regions;the logistics industry has the most adverse influence on the development of labor intensive industry,but the least that kind of influence on the development of technology-intensive industry.(2) For the 29 Chinese regions as a whole,the perfect policy environment has a positive correlation with the spillover effect of the logistics industry;for the eastern region,the positive effect is unobvious;while for the central and western regions,policy environment assumes negative influence.(3) Manufacturing firms’ scale shows significantly positive correlation with the spillover effect that caused by logistics.(4) For the regions as a whole and eastern area,urbanization has a significantly negative correlation with the spillover effect that caused by logistics;while for central and western areas,the negative effect is unobvious.
