The Significance of Japan’s Michinoeki to Promoting Rural Revitalization and Its Implications for China

Since the 1990 s,Japan has built on lessons from past experience of rural industry development,and constructed highway service complexes beside highway hubs and villages,which could accommoate different types of rural industries.This kind of infrastructure,known as Michinoeki,is actually a small-sized industrial park that gathers various rural industries.With its successful function setting and collaboration network,Michinoeki has obtained both social and economic benefits,which provides a new idea for China’s rural revitalization strategy.On the basis of direct sales store mode characterized by"local production for local consumption",China can draw on the experience of Japan’s Michinoeki mode which integrates agriculture,industry and commerce,so as to promote rural industry convergence and increase farmers’income.
