Analysis of the Effects of Energy-saving and Emission Reduction by Promoting Energy-saving and Environmental Friendly Vehicles in Beijing

Promoting energy-saving,environmental labeling vehicles and low-carbon vehicles is an important technical and economic measure to reduce energy consumption and exhaust emission of automobiles in Beijing.If 70% newly increased private cars are replaced by energy-saving ones in Beijing,the quantity of yearly saving fuel will range from 46400 tons to 48900 tons.NOX emissions will further reduce 25% if the emissions standard of China environmental labeling vehicles is revised by Europe Ⅴ emissions standards.Low-carbon vehicles should be characterized by further advanced energy-saving and environmental friendly performance.Government may promote the consumption of energy-saving,environmental labeling vehicles and low-carbon vehicles via financial subsidies and tax preference.
