摘    要:现代旅游在中国经历了从无到有、从小到大的发展历程。旅游作为一项产业在中国的定位经历了事业接待型、经济增长点、先导产业和支柱产业等几个发展阶段。国务院对旅游业的最新定位是战略性支柱产业。从社会分工、产业演进、产业序列等方面系统阐述旅游业作为战略性支柱产业的内涵、条件和发展的功能领域。

Abstract:Modern tourism in China has experienced a process from small to large in the scale. And tourism as an industry has al- so experienced several stages such as political hospitality, economic growth point, leading industry and pillar industry. Tourism industry's latest position given by the State Council is the strategic pillar industry. This paper systematically illustrates connota- tion, conditions and functional areas of tourism as a strategic pillar industry from the view of social division of labor, industry evo- lution and industry sequence.
