| Abstract: | s:The paper is a tentative exploration of the nature of translation and a discussion of the value of translation from five perspectives.The paper puts forward the idea that an ideal translation should manifest the original text as well as cultural elements embodied in the text and points out that the intrinsic value of translation lies in the five aspects of its functions,i.e.exchange,inheritance,communication,creation and development. |
