| Abstract: | American land retirement policy includes programs on agricultural land reserve and retirement for conservation purpose,mainly conservation reserve programs and wetland reserve program. This paper reviews the implementation of these programs with regard to compliance and economic effectiveness and environmental benefit. US experience with land retirement makes good reference to China in the context of natural conservation,and the national program of cropland conversion to forestland.. |
