Main Points of the Quality Control in Manufacturing Rubber-Lined Storage Tanks

Rubber lining has some special requirements for storage tanks manufacture at the site. In the manufacture of storage tanks, if control is not proper, problems like the excessive deformation, welding undercut and unqualified formation can appear, causing no rubber lining. In this paper, the summary is given to the experience about the manufacture of rubber-lined storage tanks in the project of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda. And then detailed explanations are made about quality control main points of main links like material acceptance and inspection, basic transition, prefabrication of storage tanks, group matching, welding and post treatment. These points include the following aspects： totally understanding the quality request of rubber lining on the tanks before the prefabri- cation; sensibly arrange welding orders and controlling welding deformation of tank bottom; applying the enforcing methods so as to prevent the deformation of bottom at the welding angle between bottom and wall; Fining the size of tank top board and controlling the precast materials and errors of group matching; and establishing the best welding process and controlling the deformation of wall board welding. Through the enforcement of the above measures, the purpose is to raise the quality of manufacture and reduce the working amount of post-treatment.
