The Role of HVI-testing System in Cotton Public Inspection

China is one of the main cotton producing countries in the world. Cotton quality inspection is an indispensable step as well as cotton purchasing, processing, supply, storage, import and export, and also it is a guide in cotton producing. To highlight the principle of superior cotton at higher prices and priority-of-use, it is essential to establish a scientific and authoritative cotton testing system that suits national conditions and links up with international practice. The paper summarizes some disadvantages that traditional cotton testing methods have, and introduces the effect of HVI testing system, which can contribute the cotton quality inspection reform and fair testing in instrumentation.
